okay so heres the run down
i ****ing love halloween, its my favorite holiday, but since its on a monday and im in college, i dont really have time to do anything other than sit down with overwatch or dead rising and pass out candy to trick or treaters
so, my pathfinder group and i wanted to do something fun earlier than that, and my DM suggested this haunted house thing thats pretty popular and has a zombie shooting thing
so i agree because shooting zombies sounds fun and i have a lot of experience in lazer tag and paint ball and stuff like that, and im pretty confident that i can kick anyones ass at that (ill kick your ass, ill kick your dogs ass, ill kick my own ass), but i dont want to go to the haunted house for one simple reason: i have a tendency to fight back

so we were solidifying plans today, and one of our members notes that the zombie thing isnt there this year
obviously this is a problem for me, but since im not doing anything else and i dont want to let my friends down, i dont really want to cancel
this (mods if this is too graphic or anything feel free to take it down) is what awaits me, and im really regretting my decision but i dont want to pussy out

so dS, what should i do?

By fight back do you mean you have a fear that if someone tries to jump scare you you're gonna sucker punch them?

If you really feel that's a major concern and a guarantee to happen, don't go.

If you really want to go then do so, however do tell the people running it that you have a fight reflex. They should be able to pass it around and have the staff be prepared. It is common enough for people to have that reaction that horror attractions should be able to cope with it.

I just realised that I might not know what the hell is going on

exactly
im banned from a few haunted houses because of this, including a school run one

i think its just the principle of the thing tho, like jumpscares are just a tactic to make weak horror attractions stronger and i cant exactly handle those
i just feel like i wont have that great a time but i want to convince them of some different idea

Maybe tie your hands behind your back.

Or if this is a serious concern that you feel is inevitable, suggest an alternative or pass altogether. Avoid any incidents if there's that much of a risk.

i feel like thatd amplify the scaryness for me, i dont like being restrained in most situations

ive already taked to my friend and we're looking for alternatives now but i just feel like im being a stick in the mud and letting people down by not sticking to the original plan

tbh I think it would be way less fun if I went to a haunted house and my friend got banned because their natural reaction is to fight. It would ruin the night and I would feel bad because their night got ruined by something they couldn't help.

Don't feel as though you're being a stick in the mud by trying to prevent a disaster, ESPECIALLY if you're already banned from multiple haunted houses.

my group and i had a chat and we came up with an alternative that isn't as in our face but still satisfies our need for serial killer spooks, so thank you for the suggestions!!
