Sybil could finally see the python clearly thanks to a little ray of sun looming over the thick foliage, the only source of light in that forsaken part of the forest. Sybil was about to make a run for it... but she had to make sure she had the python's word.
"Wait... how will I know I can trust you? You must promise me that you will change your diet and leave the warblers alone!" Sybil said, practically clawing the ground to avoid running away. Being a prey animal herself, she felt very intimidated by the python, especially since he seemed even bigger than the mighty Crocux himself, and maybe even Sozen...

The python almost instinctively struck at the offering, but held off at the civet's question. "I said... I will try. I will try, but I cannot guarantee. You came here to present an offering and you came here alone. And I... I have not touched you. I have approached you freely and as I have said... there are more things here then you realize. Creatures... spirits... voices... things that wish you and your companions-- dead.," it said eyeing both the offering and the civet. "Now please... let me be and let me satisfy my hunger if only for a little while.," it said trying to hold back becoming more and more tempted.

Sybil was really grtting creeped out by the way the python spoke. Were there really ghost in that place or was that one mentally unstable snake? Sybil spoke to Guardian to her dreams, so she started to believe in the former; that supernatural things like ghosts could occur. One way or another, the civet lowered her head in worry, not sure on what she was going to tell the warblers now. Trying wasn't a strong enough promise.

Knowing too well that she was pushing her luck in staying there, Sybil started to back away, ready to leave that place.
"Well... trying is not enough. I really need you to stop hunting them. I owe them that much. I thank you not hurting me, but I can't leave things like this. I will let you eat in peace now, but first, we must meet again so you can tell me about... these voices... and how else I can convince you to leave the warbler diet. You can name the time." Sybil said with a shaky voice, really not looking forward to another meeting with that horrifyingly large snake, but she knew she had to.

Sybil continued to back away, but slowly so that she could be within earshot to hear the python's response. And just like in their last meeting, she felt an eerie presence, which the civet unfortunately continued to associate with the python's intimidating appearance rather than something else entirely...

"Same time... tomorrow. I.. I will be here.," the large python said before gorging into the offering.
Regardless of what he would do in the future-- it was time to feed. No civet or Shadow was going to stop him...

"Alright..." Sybil responded, wanting to say something else, but since no words came, she quickly left the scene, not wanting to be there once the python was done with the meal. She was so focused on leaving that she didn't' noticed she just passed meters away from the hidden Rose.

Sybil was nocturnal, so she managed to find her way out of that creepy forest. Once she did, she sighed with relief... at least until she remembered that she still had to talk to the warblers. They wanted their old life back, and they will find out they couldn't. It was too late for a meeting now, since it was afternoon, and the meetings were always done in the morning so that there would be time to gather the warblers, so Sybil headed to Crocux's den, not wanting to be alone. Not to mention that she wanted to apologize to him for severely scolding him for trying to rescue her earlier...

The smaller snake had fallen silent when Sybil started to call. It remained coiled around the larger snake's tail and eavesdropped on the conversation. She couldn't see what was going on, but she could infer based on the context. When the civet was gone, she spoke up again.
"Wait, so you only eat birds? How do you find so many to keep yourself from going hungry?" She was quiet again when Rose approached the python.

While on her way to Crocux's cave, Sybil remembered that she had to tell the news to Sayan. But she was closer to Crocux's home right, so she decided to head there first and get over the apology.

Once Sybil reached the cave, she once again entered without permission. It felt a bit colder than before, but Sybil dismissed it that it was just her.
"Crocux? Are you in here?" Sybil called, hoping he wasn't deep inside mad at her for scolding him so strongly earlier...

The python looked up briefly from his feeding-- too busy to move from the others. "I... I am not the one you should be worried about. And you are fortunate I am... forgiving about eEEevedroppers.," it said between bites on the small bird. It ate slow-- trying to savor and remember the taste.

"Not now....," the python said seemily to itself. "And as for you-- that I doubt. But I can see you are quite... braave. It's almost honorable. Almost.," it said sounding annoyed but not by the tiger. It continued to gorge...

As Rose had her tense conversation with the python, night was slowly coming their way, making that gloomy part of the forest even more darker. While Sybil waited for Crocux to respond, some of the warblers knew that Sybil had already met the snake, and that she was trying to struck a deal with him. They didn't like it at all, since they had the ill memory that she tried to do that many times with Shadow, only for him to reject the offer or betray them at the last minute. The python was even worse; it could hide dangerously well and was targeting them alone. If it was large, the poor birds could be exterminated in a matter of weeks. Every minute waiting for a news update was agony...

"Shadow....,"the python said sounding slightly annoyed by the topic. "And if I may ask... how exactly was this Shadow deEEefeated?," it said again gorging once more into what was left of the small bird.

Crocux glanced at her "hey aunty." he hadn't moved from the spot the whole time.

"Oh..." Sybil expressed, knowing that he was at his usual spot, but didn't dared to look at him until his reply.
"I wanted to apologize for scolding you so badly earlier. I know you were just trying to help." Sybil explained, her encounter with the python having mellowed her down considerably.

Crocux says sounding depressed "don't be, it seems like every time I try to help I make things worse."

"Oh it's not that. It's just that you're too rash and impatient. You must learn to control that." Sybil lectured, trying very hard not to think that Crocux would someday bring harm to himself or to others if he didn't learn to control his impulses. Even though she was glad to have him at his side, she wasn't sure if he could beat such a humongous python if it ever got hostile.

Crocux says angerly "you think I don't know that!? because of it all I do is cause more trouble!"

Sybil didn't like when Crocux got angry, and even though she wasn't one to stereotype, she attributed that all crocodiles could get angry too easily.
"Now now Crocux, calm down! See what I mean? We must do something about that!" Sybil said sternly, though backing away from him. She was someone that forgave, but she didn't forget. Crocux's threat to her was still too fresh in her memory.

Crocux noticed and looked away feeling even more depressed "I'm sorry I snapped at you like that. its just the issues I have do nothing more then have me get in the way and make things worse. Maybe everyone would be better off if died already."

Sybil sighed miserably, not liking when anybody felt like that. She then started to realize that she preferred Crocux angry at her than depressed like that.
"You just feel that way cause you're sick. Diseases can get even your emotions down, I should know. But you'll feel better. I'm free at the moment, so I will do what you ask. A game, a meal, you just name it." Sybil expressed, willing to do anything to make the crocodile feel better, since she knew it was mostly her fault that he was feeling that way...

"I see...," the python said between bites. 'If only you knew....' he thought to himself.

Crocux glanced at her and said "i don't want anything. but dad says he wants to talk to u"

"I see..." Sybil said, knowing it was through Guardian the reason Crocux tried to rescue her earlier. She was going to talk to Sayan about her progress with the python, but it was already getting late, and just like the meeting with the warblers, it would have to wait tomorrow.

Putting on her usual headgear to avoid Crocux's snores, she lied on her usual spot, thinking about the python. It seemed polite, but very unstable, and that really worried her. It didn't even attacked her, not even once, and even said that it was going to protect her from the other dangerous things in that part of the forest, but that made her even more suspicious. His only target was the warblers so far, but it accepted the pigeon, so she hoped that meant that she got partially though to him. For a few minutes, Sybil thought she wasn't going to be able to get some sleep that night, but actually, she dropped asleep almost instantly, and it was all now a matter of time before she got the expected visit from Guardian...

While the sun was slowly crawling away in the horizon, Peepers was having his wings full. Since everyone knew that Sybil was going to talk to the python, about one fifth of the remaining warblers were returning to their old homes, most of them ignorant, impatient young adults and teenagers.
"That's it y'all! Miss Sybil hasn't even gave us the sign that she made the progress with the snake. We can't return to our old homes until she gave is the permission!" the tired old warbler said, trying to get through to them, but the young warblers were moving to their old nests, tired of living that annoying, crowded life.
"Come on old timer! We are sick of living like this! We are all competing for food, and living so close to each other makes us fight for space." one of the young adults complained, and that was unfortunately true. The warblers had been getting along until recently, since they were all starting to fight for food and space.

Peepers tried to convince everyone to wait just a little while, but it was futile. The intolerability of youth was too much for him to handle. While that handful of young warblers were done returning to the nest, the old warbler was worried and went to Mambo.
"I don't know how else to convince them Mr. Mambo. It's almost night, and we're still not sure if miss Sybil got through that python." he said depressed, with the kea giving him a forced smile.
"It's alright bird. You can't force those young warblers to stay here if they don't want to." Mambo assured, having too noticed the tension among them.
"I'm sure they will be fine. Miss Sybil is smart. She knows what she's doing." Mambo said, but both birds kne that if Sybil didn't convinced the python, all those young warblers were at the complete mercy of the snake tonight...

In her dreams the usual place appeared with Guardian at his usual spot. He was preoccupied with the scen below him wich showed his whole family playing together even faces Sybil wouldn't recodnise like an adult version of Terrence Jr and a rhino.

Sybil ignored the animals below, since there wasn't going to be time for an introduction. There were plenty of them down there She instead went to Guardian and talked immediately to him.
"Hello again Guardian. Crocux told me you wanted to talk..." Sybil said, though believing he was just going to talk about the python, since if Guardian sent Crocux to rescue her, that meant he was worried...

Jhen: After playing with Randy for a while, Jhen is tired and bids goodnight to his new friend and play buddy, before returning to his home. Finding his usual place he falls asleep, minutes later. In his dreams he searches for that which is missing, his father.

Sunflame follows Whirlpool out into the sunlight. He gazes around at the place around him, breathing in the fresh air and listening to the sounds of the ocean waves. The male serval is glad to have some time in the sun and outside.

AJ: I haven't seen much of anyone today, except my neighbor and guest, Sholeh. I am not too concerned about this fact as I don't get much visits normally. Still something tells me that there is something going on outside my tree, at our home, Haven.

Whirlpool returned home along with Sunflame once they were done helping with the playground. If they planned their timing, it was going to be done in less than a week. The wombat kept secret however, that he missed the Haven, and that he would love to visit. He didn't feel needed anymore because he believed he taught Sybil the most important things to know about medicine and health.

Sholeh was already lying down on AJ's tree, ready to go to sleep. The margay always had long absences during the day, and they were so common, she didn't even bother asking him what was that all about. She just let the strange cat mind his own business, and it was better for her since she had the tree all to herself while he was away. That had helped her forget all about warbler eggs, and wasn't craving them as much as before, though she knew it was partially because she knew the warblers were significantly decreasing in number, and now that everyone knew the reason for that, she started to suspect that if nothing was done in time, the little birds may become extinct in the island...

Guardian says "well my original reasons to talk aren't here now. it seems you have the Python issue under control. that said with everything handled now the only thing we can do now is talk as friends."

Sybil was confused. She was sure Guardian was going to give her a sort of warning, but it was nothing like that at all.

"Well... mostly. The python was actually very cordial and didn't seem like it wanted to attack me at all. Quite the opposite. I didn't get a solemn promise though, about him hunting the warblers. So I have to try again tomorrow." Sybil expressed, actually feeling better than before. The python seemed only interested in eating birds only, since he accepted the pigeon, so that made her feel less fearful of him. Still, she wasn't looking forward to return to that gloomy part of the forest.

"Anyway, after all this ugly issue is done, we can return talking in peace, without any worries about the Haven. After I'm done with the python, I shall move to Crocux. I treated him kinda badly today. Which reminds me, don't give him any more warnings like that. He'll just act rashly like he did today, and... well, let's just say I don't want him to be angry." she said, somewhat admitting that she still was afraid of Crocux's notorious temper despite much progress in their friendship for the last couple of months.

Guardian smiles sheepishly and says "yeah I kinda knew he would act like that which is why i told him given how things were going at the time. so really be mad at me." then trys to cover that up by saying "any who, Crocux is actually almost all better. he practically isn't sick anymore, but he is getting genuinely depressed. all he needs is for you to remind him of all the times he's been a help to the haven." Then sitting down says "ether way since I got no advice to help you lets chat while you're here."

Since the dream didn't show any signs of fading away, Sybil took the time to express more on what her plans were for tomorrow.

"I really hope I can make some progress with the python. He may have been kind to me, but he's still dangerous." Sybil said, getting quite down when she remembered yet again how low the number of warblers were because she didn't pay attention to all the signs.

"There is no other choice. If I can' get through to that snake by tomorrow, the warblers will have to leave for a while. I don't want any of them dying. Hopefully, that will force the python to feed on the pigeons and get use to them." Sybil finally said, though knowing the warblers were almost as stubborn as her, and it wasn't gonna be easy making them leave if there was nothing else to be done.

"I'm here.," Sayan said from the entrance of the den. He looked as if he did more worrying then sleeping.

While Sybil was sleeping soundly and talking to Guardian in her dream, it was a restless night for certain birds. The young warblers that moved away from the kea tree were nervous, and were starting to regret their decision. Only a few moved away again to their temporary homes, but the ones that stayed were being watched over by a few selected keas to protect them, though it was gonna be a long, difficult night for these parrots since they had been getting use to being diurnal for the rest of the Haven resident's sake.

The tiny serpent had remained on the python's tail until Rose left. She uncoiled and slithered through the thick vegetation up to where his head was. "I've never tasted a bird before. I don't think I'll ever be big enough, since my parents are smaller than those pigeons," she said, watching as he ate.

"At least you got home safe.," Sayan said rubbing against Rose. "And Sybil-- is she alright?," he then asked.

That night, everything went quiet. If the python stroke that night, nobody knew. It was just that secretive. Sybil talked with Guardian for a while, but it was time for her to wake up, so bidding him goodbye, she opened her eyes to see that the sun was barely rising. It was still early. Sybil took out her headgear to find out Crocux was snoring as loud as ever, and with his mouth half open, the sound was even stronger. She knew it wasn't worth bothering him, so she left the cave quietly in order to get a strong breakfast. It was going to be a heavy, busy day for her today...

Peepers woke up a little bit later, having barely managed to get some sleep, worrying about the young warblers that rashly and stupidly moved to their original homes. He didn't know that some of them moved back near the kea tree, but as for the rest, it was hard to tell. We're they still there?

During the night, the python had a internal struggle between himself and the strange disembodied voice of Shadow. He was conflicted-- having seen how determined Sybil and others were at protecting their own. Or at least... what they considered their own. Part of him wanted to end it... ignore their pleas and just do what he felt he was meant to do. The other part... was tired of the secrecy and the hiding. Maybe the covet spoke some form of truth after all. 'Maybe they wouldn't notice just one more missing...,' he thought to himself. Still... the night appeared to go on peacefully and without any evident conflict.

Sayan slowly woke up-- still a tad groggy from his previous lack of sleep.
