It's the third time, and unfortunately TTD can't do enough about this since he's unable to be as active as before. So how about I tell you about a little coward that's on this forum?



This is the third time I recieved this kind of message in two years. It started when A CERTAIN USER started having a little spat about the fact I call people out on stuff and that's backseat moderating. I took out my DeviantART link because they used a throwaway, told TTD, and though we knew A CERTAIN USER's comment was too close to be a coincidence, we let it pass.
Then it happened again. A CERTAIN USER started having their tantrums again, then the next throwaway appeared, this time trying to threaten me and speaking hilariously broken portuguese. Told TTD, knew we shouldn't go after A CERTAIN USER because it wasn't proof, let it pass.

It happened again today. A CERTAIN USER was on and was complaining as usual. I ignore it, and there's the ****ing spam again on my message box. I really don't know what else to do about this. I can't just ignore this guy every time because they're throwaway accounts, and because dA's moderating system sucks, none of these were even banned for spam and harassment. So I'm doing the only thing left and letting everyone here know that A CERTAIN USER likes to go offsite to harass people over incredibly trivial ****. Because of A CERTAIN USER, I can't even let people know of my art without PM and trusting them to not tell anyone else either. Because of A CERTAIN USER can't accept that maybe people are allowed to call others when they're being jerks because the mods aren't always on, I have to ignore them.

Gee, I wonder who that person is? Maybe I can't say the username,but just in case someone fits this profile, maybe ignore them at all costs because that's what they're going to do with you if you give them the time of day.

edit: Mods tried to help, but because they can't go after someone just because they fit the bill to a T since there's no way to find the names, the only way would be waiting on DeviantART staff. But it turns out that place actively avoids doing consumer support which I found out after doing some research and looking at the 4 week wait, I guess I'm better off just abandoning the account and saving the headache for real issues like getting a better site that protects your portfolio.

Someone's obviously sour about not getting the spoiled content they want. :L

When did this exactly start?

Around last year, maaybe a bit before SuperChargers' release. I hid the first comment thinking that it was a one-time issue so it can't be retrieved, but the previous time is still there because I foolishly thought dA would kill the account eventually. It's very common there to have no moderation for any issues other than rampant spam and phishing,which is most likely why this person is doing this repeatedly.

Second time is still there, Jun 1, 2016.

It does suck when some folks take their forum crusades too far and try to burn down the four corners of the internet about it.

I could probably go through some old emails and PMs and dig up more than a handful of examples of users on this site blasting me via their tumblrwhineblog or whatever.

But lemme tell ya, life goes on. :D

It does, but it really sucks that I have to be super secretive about my other accounts. I had my deviantART on my signature because I wanted to share my fanart easily since I do a lot of Skylanders stuff, but now I fear that even if I make an art thread to repost them someone's going to dig up their URLs to find me.

I mean, talk **** about me when I'm not listening, I don't control other people's lives. But coming after me over something so small and STILL fighting in the actual forum about the very same subject is annoying and I'd point fingers in a heartbeat if I didn't know that we can't allow namecalling because some people have used that for malicious purposes before.

I'm aware of at least one case where a user from here posted on their tumblr about me and linked to another forum I moderate. Thankfully, either their fanbase is mature enough, lazy enough, or small enough that nothing came of it - but I've had my nickname longer than half this forum has been alive (8th Grade, Terminator 2 reference) - someone dedicated enough could track so much of my history online (thankfully, it's pretty boring and most of my younger stuff was before every byte on the internet was backedup seventy times)... and, frankly, let 'em. It says more about their pettiness than you. Eventually, you learn to block and ignore (we *really* still need a user-ignore feature on this forum) and move on.

Don't let them ruin your fun. That's the *one* thing they want - and by closing yourself off, you're letting them win.

Well, blocking doesn't work on dA because you can create as many accounts as you want :I As long as it isn't right after another, the staff doesn't even care. It's also why I have to take it here since someone that names themselves after my account obviously has petty beef with me here.

No offense or anything, but what were you trying to accomplish by posting it here? You're not really giving any details about who it might be (understandably), and even so, what would the mods on DS be able to do about a few incidents on DA? It really sucks that that's happening, don't get me wrong, and I wish I could help you with that, but...

Well, not doing anything isn't going to help with anything. It's the third time already, as stupid as it is to talk so vaguely I need to bring this to the attention of more people.

They already know your dA account, so who's winning by you not advertising it?

If one person uses it for this, there are petty people out in the forum who are willing to look for my other accounts(which I do name differently), even if unrelated to the user, because this goes unpunished. I also post my art in other places where this didn't happen, so that could also be tracked by someone having ideas.

Oh look, they decided to do it twice in a week today, naming themselves as ShadowMewX2. Considering the one from here doesn't even show up regularly on the Skylanders board to know the context, nice try framing someone, except that it's not and it was so low effert I might get to report the messages for spam.

Wow. Thats actually really low, considering ShadowMewX isn't like that at all.
I never had a situation like this, but I know a cartain user who did get on a tempter tantrum and told people on DeviantArt to attack people on DarkSpyro.


In any case, impersonation for foul causes is really low, regardless where and why.

Yup, which probably means the guy might be reading this thread.
I still think the most hilarious part is that this harassment is currently about the fact I keep telling people to tag their spoilers or not do the X rule breaking thing. Being ~vague and demeaning~ isn't going to make me stop ****. I don't want people like Drek and others still trying to get the last of their info before release day rush having their day ruined, I don't want good discussion ruined because someone starts a fight over that. The fact the user in question is so buttmad over that only makes me want to do it more often instead of waiting for it to escalate.

And now they're impersonating Drek(who only makes the offending user more obvious), and sending me some risky link that's probably porn or something. Don't know don't care, report as spam.

They're clearly reading this.

All I can say is that that guy seriously is butthurt over this, making a big deal out of notthing.

Unfortunately, as the troll can see from this topic, he's clearly getting a rise out of all of us. The best thing we can do is ignore it and show him that we honestly don't care what he does. At least his trolling attempts are pretty low-frequency.

They did copy BlackWing today, it's hilarious. They keep sending me short links which are probably something demeaning like I'm stupid enough to click. I'll bet you they're arguing aomewhere on the forum at the same time and I didn't check yet.

Not so hilarious is the complete lack of mod response to this e_e

See? See? I was calling it. At this point its more getting hilarious to see if the impersonater does a good job on it or is being a total flop. You'd imagen someone who'd try to impersonate would-oh wait, he/she can read this. I shouldnt give them tips.

I'm really sorry but for 1 or more reasons I'm starting to find it funny, especially if someone tries to impersonate me. Nobody can get a spot on that tbh.

Yup, and for all the attempts to reduce infighting and the talks and the discussion, I guess it's totally fine for a user to be harassed offsite. You heard it here first, folks.

As of today, I think it's already 6-7 accounts or so, all posting demeaning things, risky links, or just plain blubbering about the other two cases like he's so eager to be a **** and pressed enter early. I even started getting responses from dA finally, guess it's straight up spambotting now.

Next, they'll be Aura. I'm betting.

Mods should notice this.

Two years ago, when I had this issue, the guilty party *admitted* on this site that they were the ones doing it. Nothing was done.

Now, while OP *thinks* they know who it is that is harassing them offsite, I'm sure there's no hard evidence (since you'd need the IP address on both sides of the issue, or for the individual in question to admit it here)...

So, what should mods do?

At least say they don't know what to do. This isn't the user's only problem, they also purposefully challenge warnings, have beef with several other users and hold pretty bad grudges. Are the mods going to cross their arms and wait for something really bad to happen or at least try and confront?

While they're just being manchildren and telling me drop out of art or something, I don't lose my sleep over it. But when they go after someone weaker or mentally challenged, it'll get ugly.

Which is funny, when it was me, all I wanted was to make users aware of this other site where users from here would make 'fun' pages to harass users from here. I didn't expect anyone from here to get involved w/r/t punishment or anything...

Don't take it out of context though. I meant that for pages where it's talking about you indirectly. This is someone going my my accounts elsewhers,sending me public and PM spam and showing no sign of stopping.
The issue with the DS wikia was that, with several users doing it, you'd be challenging them to try worse by talking here with everyone. As far as I know, this is one person, so there's not a second jerk that would want to compete. If it was multiple people I'd for sure be messaging the mods only.

In what world is someone creating an "information" page, purported to be 'accurate', about *me* considered to be "talking about [me] indirectly"? That's pretty much as direct as you get.

I don't, in any way, support the user(s) who is harassing you, on or off-site. If I knew who they were and thought they'd care about my opinion, I'd suggest they stop doing it and move on with their lives. But... maybe you can at least accept the irony of karma coming back like a boomerang in this situation.
