"Eh, I don't really know," Speckles begun, twirling an antenna in thought. "It's been a while, so I don't know what kind of stuff gets under her skin a lot. All I really remember is snakes, obviously, but I don't know if that still stands." A lot had happened ever since Skaliscin's clutch was official, and many details on things were fuzzy to him. It was hard for a little invertebrate to keep up with the strong memory those mammals seemed to be blessed with.

Sayan nodded and soon went off to catch lunch.

"You always get that feeling here at the Haven with so many of my fellow warblers living here." Peepers assured, not feeling Rose's uneasiness.

Crocux had a feeling their was more to it then that but wasn't the type to pry into it. "okay if that's all."

Sholeh groaned, having a feeling that Crocux didn't believed her.
"You know what? Forget it! Here I was, filling myself with hope and Terrence had to randomly appear and ruin everything! Is it in the family to butt into private conversations? Cause this isn't the first time that has happened! I'm leaving!" Sholeh said furiously, and just like Terrence before her, she left the cave without giving Crocux a chance to reply. She even pushed Jack to of the way in her anger, lowering her head so that nobody could see that she was crying.

She left just in time, cause less than a minute later, Sybil returned with the catfish. She gave a quick greeting to the chimp, not suspecting a thing on what just happened since she was tired. She entered the cave and smiled to the awakened Crocux.
"Oh, hey, good morning Crocux. Or better yet, good afternoon. Hope you're feeling better. I brought you a little something. I know it's not much, but it's temporary until I can find you something bigger." Sybil said, noticing that there must be something wrong with his expression. She then simply associated it with the crankiness one usually felt when recently awake.

Mambo shrank his wings, figuring out that Speckles didn't have can answer. What could a tiny animal know about pranks.
"Well never mind. I suppose I should try harder." he said, flying away since he knew the rest of his flock wanted to speak to him more.

Crocux says "hey aunty." not really paying attention to her as he left going after Sholeh.

"HEY! Crocux! You are not suppose to leave the cave!" Sybil said, trying to get ahold of his tail but slipped from the point. She was quite angry, and now outside the cave and besides Jack, she spoke to the chimp.
"Oh, I'm going to scold him so badly when he returns." she said, deciding to wait for him since there was no way she could catch up with him, especially due to how tired she was.

Sholeh in the meantime, reached the edge of the snowy mountain, looking up and unaware Crocux was looking for her. She was quite distressed, and since she didn't want to go home to avoid looking at the annoyingly loving AJ, she simply contemplated to white mountain to get her mind off things...

Crocux as calling for Sholeh still being in earshot of her. "Sholeh! wait! you misunderstood me! please let me explain!"

Jack says to Sybil "you shouldn't. he's trying to help one of our residents and if you reprimand him for it you'll be in the wrong."

"Oh no. This cannot be!" Sholeh whispered to herself, refusing to believe Crocux followed her. She then followed his voice.
"You! What are you doing here!? Aren't you suppose to be resting in your little cave?" Sholeh said, angry and being rude to him for the first time. She hated Terrence for ruining the hopeful moment she had earlier.

Sybil, being the stubborn civet that she was, didn't care whether it was for a good cause or not.
"I don't care if he has a good reason! I told him to stay I the cave for a few days and he disobeyed me! Remember that he's still sick, and getting outside could make it worse!" Sybil said angrily, still determined to give him a punishment for running off like that. She has spent a lot of time with Crocux after all, so she believed she was finally under the liberty to reprimended him when she felt he did something wrong.

Crocux cought up to her and says "look, it wasn't that i didn't believe you, it's just that I thought their was more to why Terrence was ticked off at you. you misunderstood what i ment, i was saying that i would take your ord for it, but that issue is between you and Terrence so I wont get involved unless i need to or if you want me to. and right now it's nether, so understand that I do trust you, and I'll defend you no matter what, from anyone even Sybil, all I ask is that you keep doing your best." he could tell she was crying anwent up to her, with one of is little croc legs he pulled Sholeh in for a hug "I'll be their for you, no matter what. I promise."

Jack says "i know but lets just say this particuler case was more important then worrying about a few extra days of sickness."

Sholeh thought it was pathetic his display of affection, but who was going to discuss with a saltwater crocodile?
"Well, if there was something else, I don't even remember." Sholeh said, being genuinely sincere for once. She really didn't remember what she did with Terrence, though she was glad that whatever it was, it worked, and stopped his annoying advances.
"And I know you're bluffing, since I know you would never do anything to Sybil, but I know you'll be trying." Sholeh finally said, wanting to get off the hug. She knew how Crocux and Sybil indeed for the last weeks, and that was a little annoying to Sholeh.

"It's probably just a common cold, but that can be just as bad. Do you know how hard it was to mix that medicine for Crocux?" Sybil expressed to Jack, not wanting to go to another beehive if Crocux's sickness worsened.

Crocux lets go and says "of corse I wont hurt Sybil. but that doesn't mean I wont defend you." he smiled "whatever it was that got Terrence angry at you I'm sure that you'll figure it out and you two can try to make peace. but that can be saved for the future, right now lets worry about other things. like I need to head back before Sybil gets any angryer."

Jack says "let me guess, it involved a bee hive."

"Well, it's not Sybil you should worry about anyway. It's the warblers." Sholeh quickly said, not wanting Crocux to believe that she meant for him to hurt the civet in her defense. She then watched as he left, glad to finally be alone.

Sybil wasn't surprised Jack guessed, since being a chimp, he probably also knew about medicine, or maybe it was her stings that were noticeable.
"We don't have many beehives here, so it's hard to come by to one. And of course, bees are reckless in their protection. Shame we don't have a honey badger here to help us with that." Sybil said, realizing how lucky she was that her stings weren't that bad.

Jack nodded "yea that's a shame." Crocux came back and said "sorry about that aunty, I know you said I should stay put and rest but it was an urgent matter that couldn't wait."

Sybil scoffed. Clearly still angry at his decision to run off recklessly like that.
"Well I had brought you a catfish, but now you'll have to wait for it." Sybil said, believing that making him wait for his food was going to be enough punishment.

"Oh, okay. Bye." After Mambo took off, Speckles tried to think harder about what might be used against Sybil. Honestly, he felt like the poor civet had had enough already, and thought that she needed more time and rest before anyone should harass her in any way. After thinking this, he decided to move on and turn his attention back to the others.
"Now, what was I saying again?"

Crocux sighed sadly having been forced to wait for his food. but it could be worse "okay aunty." he goes back in and waits.

Sybil hid the catfish under a small rock in the cave, and continued to watch Crocux, wondering how much patience he was going to have. It was late afternoon, and Sybil wondered if the orca game took place that day.

But no Haven resident came that day. Cairo reunited the pod and reminded them that the residents also had their own lives besides the game, but many of them were disappointed since the game was already postponed yesterday and they didn't like it. And Cairo once again reminded them that the day before yesterday, they had been quite intense with the Haven residents in order to scare away the sharks, so they deserved all the rest they could get.

Peepers still understood, yet he wanted Rose to be calm.
"It's alright Miss. Like I said, I'm getting very old. Warblers don't live that much you know, and if I can still be of service to your and the entire Haven community, it will be all worth it." Peepers said with pride, always being happy to be of service. He even felt sad for Yodel for being unable to feel the same.

Peepers simply looked up and shook his head, realizing he couldn't change Rose's perception no matter how much he tried. Since he already ate well and was exhausted from building that little nest, he lied down and slept peacefully right there.

Sayan soon returned with a couple juicy fish-- approaching with caution just in case the creature decided to make an appearance.
Fortunately for the creature (and unfortunately for the Haven), this gave the creature just enough time to move out of the large cat's way.
The grass rustled just as Sayan emerged... and the smell of fish filled the air. It even reached the creature... who only grew more and more hungry.

The smell wasn't enough to wake up the slumbering Peepers, who was in a deep sleep right now. He had no idea how Rose's overbearing concern was saving his life right now...

Peepers wasn't the only warbler of course. With the rumors of the creature slowly going away with the lack of activity, the rest of the warblers were starting to scatter more and more, some going alone to find food. Since no one but Peepers has heard about Sayan's little encounter, they poor birds started to doubt the creature's existence, so they put themselves in a vulnerable position just like they did before the move, unaware of the deadly mistake that was...

Crocux waited patently for Sybil to give him the okay unaware of the danger's befalling the haven.

Sybil looked at Crocux to see if he would have lost it eventually. He could easily overpower her to get the fish if he wanted to, and yet he remained there, accepting the punishment. During the drought, Crocux could manage to go days without eating, but with so much abundance of food returning, she believed his resistance was not the same.

as badly as he wanted the food he didn't want to upset Sybil by disobaying her so he fought against his hunger and stayed put.

When Sybil heard his belly, she realized that what she was probably doing was cruel, so she got the fish from under the rock.
"Alright, I think that's enough. At least you returned soon, so there's no point in waiting too long." Sybil said with compassion, really proud of Crocux for not taking the fish away from her and for respecting her authority. She then tossed the catfish right into his mouth, knowing that it was nowhere near enough for him, but she was going to make sure he had a feast that night to compensate the time he spent sleeping.

he ate the catfish greatfully and smiled. while they may be equals at running the Haven being his aunt made Sybil the boss of him family wise. "thank you aunty."

"Well, at least you sound better. That cold didn't last much." she said proudly, very sure that was the work of the medicine. She then looked outside and could see that it was almost dark, but the presence of rain indicated it was just te clouds.
"Oh look at that. Raining again. Not as strong as before, but still. It looks like I'll have to stay here again." Sybil said, sounding a bit disappointed since she wanted to get Crocux a stronger meal. She doubted that a simple catfish all day was enough for him.

Jack says "okay i'll check the traps then." and leaves.

OOC: What traps are you talking about ShadeTheDragon?

Sybil went to her same established corner in the cave, looking at the calming rain. It wasn't as intense as yesterday, but it still had a bit of that quiet, distant thunder, making her sleepy. She looked at Crocux halfway, not wanting to look at him directly, feeling ashamed of both her early punishment and not giving him enough food. She hoped he would recover by tomorrow so that he would hunt again, since she wanted to visit Hunted island and see how everyone was doing there. It's been quite a long while since her last visit after all.

The rain was very welcome for most of the residents, especially since it clearly indicated that the drought was finally behind them. Unfortunately, the rain also made the terrifying visitor even more camouflaged than he already was, making him practically invisible...

Warblers were use to the rain, but hated caves.
"I'm actually pretty comfortable here. And the cave? Sorry Miss, but we're not bats. Us birds prefer the open. We don't like anything that feels locked. Besides, I might get claustrophobic." Peepers said, appreciating the offer but not interested.

Peepers, after being woken up by both Rose and the rain, went back to sleep, knowing that even though the tiger wasn't with him, she still kept seeing him from the entrance of the cave.

From the entrance of the den, Sayan watched the peaceful Peepers alongside Rose.

And from within the rain-- eyes watched hidden in the tall grasses surrounding Peeper's nest. The creature remained still... waiting for the two large cats to divert their gaze at just the right moment.'Sleep... sleep well my feather friend. Soon you will be mine,' he thought to himself.

Peepers had some trouble getting to sleep, perhaps because of his abrupt wake earlier or it was just the tiny droplets of rain sometimes getting on his beak. Whatever the reason, he wanted to remain calm and peaceful for Rose's sake, knowing that she was still to nervous. Although two hours still remained, the Haven looked almost as if it was night due to the foliage and the clouds, almost as if the weather was in favor of the unpleasant horror that was lurking aboutand that everybody was underestimating more and more each day.

Briefly opening his eyes, Peepers looked up, wanting to see the rain. It was such a blessing after the long, painful drought. And the best thing of all was that they didn't need to worry about any more invasions now that Shadow was finally gone...

Sayan kept his gaze intact-- trying his best to remain awake and alert.

The creature, in the meanwhile, stirred from within the foliage and slowly slithered towards the nest. Still camouflaged in the grass, he did so very gracefully as to not attract any attention from would be predators.

OOC: Well that Shadow part was unexpected. I like being surprised like that

Peepers continued sleeping, but it was a very light sleep. He felt very uneased, but he wanted to believe that was just the nervousness of the distant thunder. Like the rest of the warblers, he just wanted to get the rumors over with so they could all live in the peace and harmony they use to have long before Shadow or the drought ever arrived. He was a rather old warbler after all, all he wanted was to be calm and peaceful, incredibly unaware of the deadly danger he was currently in...

While things were seemingly and ignorantly peaceful at the Haven, at Hunted island, there has been many changes. What has happened to the cockatoos lately? Unlike the Haven, Hunted island was much more prone to droughts due to the denser forest needing more water to survive. The drought was over in that island too, but the terrain was still on the verge of recovering. The cockatoos were use to the conditions, and what was better, it was raining in there too, and the infamous fog that characterized the island so much was stirring, adding more humidity to the trees. Barloc has been a very busy cockatoo, having ordered to build a playground for the now teenaged Angus and Nia, plus the other little cockatoos that were born last month. They haven't visited the Haven in a long time due to needing to keep their home in place, but thanks to Kali, Barloc has become more flexible to the idea of his nephew and daughter visiting the island, and as soon as the playground was done, they had his permission to visit the resident, even the carnivores if they wanted to.

ooc: Jack made a few lizard traps in case Crocux needed to snak on something other then fish.

Jack comes back wet and with a few lizards. he gave them to Crocux who ate them greedly.

By the time Jack arrived, Sybil was already asleep, luckily for the chimp, since she would have most certainly scolded him for getting himself wet, even if it's just for feeding Crocux what she couldn't. Even during her sleep, she wondered if she was going to receive a visit from Guardian, which she doubted since communication with the cobra was getting harder for some reason...
