I approve of this message, we really do need to re-evaluate ourselves.

As much as I agree with this topic, we constantly go through this cycle. This is like...the fourth time I've seen this type of topic. It works for maybe two weeks, but knowing the internet, we all turn into jerks again :C

Agreed entirely.

Also, apparently I missed something, what happened with QC?

ToyNerd made a topic talking about how he just found out what the golden dragons do at the side of a topic, and QC made a joke post that he THOUGHT was a snarky remark about his discovery. So he made a snarky remark back and QC blew it out of proportion. She started saying stuff that made other users (including me) very VERY mad, so they began to call her out, and she left believing Darkspyro wasn't the place for her.

If you want the world to be a better place, then start with yourself before trying to change your community.

Who wouldn't want to be an asshole with no consequences? You can say literally anything and nothing will happen, how do you think simply telling someone to stop being an asshole is going to make them stop when they lose nothing from doing it?

Pretty sure "We" isn't really the right term here. There's plenty of users who don't get involved in drama like this at all, or are oblivious to it happening.

The best thing everyone can do is act a little more mature around here - and elsewhere on the internet - and hope others will follow our lead. At the end of the day, this is the World Wide Web, and there's always gonna be jerks somewhere. Don't let this get you down, TheToyNerd.

EDIT: And there's no point in saying "Screw it" either. Stand by your point, and others will stand with you!

Well, it's better than crossing arms and let more people get chased off the forum.
None of the users in question are saints, but some of the comments they get are getting dangerously close to bullying. And yeah, always strive to not stoop down to the jerk of the day's level, but it's getting really hard when people that are supposed to be in the "right" decide it's ok to stop being a decent human being because the user does constant mistakes.
If you REALLY have huge beef with them, at least keep your criticisms polite. Insults and demeaning terms aren't making you superior, winning the argument, or anything but fueling the flamewar. No one saw me being a **** to Keybash even when I stated several times I despised her attitude, etc etc.

Not you, ToyNerd, before you ask. You did what I just said, polite criticism; even when the thing got heated you can at least know you said what you should've in a reasonable way.

I'm assuming that this was another topic about S&N's toxicity before ToyNerd edited it?

I read through ToyNerd's dragon topic and honestly I don't know what I can even say anymore that I haven't already said.

This whole thing has pretty much become an infinite cycle. A controversial topic pops up in S&N/a topic gets derailed to hell, it gets out of control, it ends with at least one person getting hurt, and someone afterwards makes a topic condemning the bad behavior that was in that topic or how we really have to change ourselves. Lather, rinse, repeat.

The only thing I can say is at least users on this website at least acknowledge when there's a problem and try their best to fix it. That at least puts it up higher than some other forums and websites. So the fact that ToyNerd(and users beforehand with drama that has happened in the past) at least attempted to make a topic about the whole thing is praiseworthy to say the least.

But the only way it's going to get better is if everyone either collectively changes or if change is forced upon everyone. Neither of which is going to happen anytime soon. So I guess we'll just have to make due with the cycle repeating every now and then, because with the amount of times this cycle has repeated itself, I can't see it stopping anytime soon.

Cool cool.

there's nothing that can be said to stop other users from causing drama and fights and stuff.
people just have to suck up and not get so pissy over little things. they need to learn how to stop and move on. but that isn't going to happen.

i personally never want this drama to stop though
