okay so in my frantic ****ing attempt to **** with files to try 'fix' the skype issue before realizing it was on skype's end
i deleted all internet explorer shortcuts and even deleted the internet explorer folder in my app data roaming folder
all because there was this 'method' that by deleting internet explorer and temporary internet files and installing a newer version, skype would work again
OHO NO I LITERALLY MESSED UP MY ****ING COMPUTER
can't find internet explorer anywhere on my computer, can't install it because it says there's already a recent version on my computer
is anyone a tech genius or has anyone done what i've done (probably not because i'm the ****ing stupidest person the planet right now) and know how to fix this?

Have you tried searching for the browser by typing it in the start menu?

It's not there.

Try typing "%ProgramFiles%" into the search bar in the start menu, then click on "Program Files." There should be a file there named "Internet Explorer." Click it and look for the application named "iexplore." That should take you to IE.

I tried Rio's method. Internet Explorer 8 popped up. It popped up with like the thing you get once you install things.
Also tried your method and it worked too.
It's pinned to my taskbar, not sure how to make it a shortcut on my desktop. Also don't know how to update internet explorer without ****ing everything up again.
IE's still 'deleted' from my roaming folder. I really shouldn't have done that.

what version of windows do you have?

Okay it seems my computer has 4 important updates, and 1 of them is Internet Explorer 10. And it's currently doing that. I do hope it creates a shortcut on my desktop. ;w; Probably won't..

I was able to create a shortcut for IE while the updates were going, and after restarting my computer, the icons have changed from IE 8 to IE 10.

Who knew that getting IE back was as simple as opening a picture with IE as it's default program? ^^; And yet we tried all these other technical ways, and this solution was that one that worked. Thanks so much, Rio. ;w;
Man, I feel so stupid. ^^; I honestly thought I had ****ed up for sure.

I won't try sign in on my downgraded skype, since the issue is probably still ongoing, but I'm sure it will work when the issue is fixed.
