I've seen multiple things online where people refer to Hispanic people as poc and treat it as a race, but as far as I know it just refers to countries/cultures that have been influenced by Spain and Hispanics can be any race or ethnicity, and when I look it up this is all I can find. I'm not trying to offend anybody I'm just genuinely confused o~o

Hispanic is a race for anyone from a Spanish based country/of Spanish based decent. Yes, it covers countries of Spanish influence, but more the people instead of the countries themselves. It's like with Black people. They are typically of African decent (hence the term African-American), however not all Africans are Black.

I think Hispanic just means they trace their ancestry back to Spanish Colonists. Though a lot of Hispanics also have Native American ancestry IIRC.
