Cecil was killing people and destroying crop fields. The people living on the reserve said that the lion wouldn't be missed.

What the actual ****? I saw a YT vid on it just now, and they said when he threw her he LAUGHED. And the family were more focused on getting him out of there instead of caring for Pinky. Hope this ***** gets strapped in an electric chair, is electrocuted to death, and then rots in hell for all of eternity.

The reason I didn't act like this when Harambe died was because if he wasnt shot, that boy would have died. But this? This makes me want to find this guy and grab him by the neck and throw him off the empire state building. I actually care a lot for animals more then most people on this site would think.

these people are horrible
just because they are his family doesn't mean they should stick up for him when he does something absolutely terrible :/

An eye for an eye makes the whole world blind.

Wanting the human dead is just as worse as wanting the animal dead. Now, I think it's a terrible thing that this happened, and I do want justice for Pinky, but I don't think he deserves death. Simply, I think he should serve some time in jail and that's enough.

Doubt anyone's going to jail at all for harming an animal, is there any cases that aren't repeat offenders? I do hope his ass gets a hefty fine for animal abuse though.

edit: didn't read the whole article. He does have a track record for harming people.

Florida state animal cruelty law.

(2)***A person who intentionally commits an act to any animal, or a person who owns or has the custody or control of any animal and fails to act, which results in the cruel death, or excessive or repeated infliction of unnecessary pain or suffering, or causes the same to be done, commits aggravated animal cruelty, a felony of the third degree, punishable as provided in s. 775.082 or by a fine of not more than $10,000, or both.
(a)***A person convicted of a violation of this subsection, where the finder of fact determines that the violation includes the knowing and intentional torture or torment of an animal that injures, mutilates, or kills the animal, shall be ordered to pay a minimum mandatory fine of $2,500 and undergo psychological counseling or complete an anger management treatment program.

Considering the guy already attacked an old person, doesn't sound like the anger management treatment would go anywhere.

It is a better law than what we have in Brazil at the least. I don't think it can break 5k (which is what, 2 thousand dollars at the most?) in fines even if you kill the animal. Could be wrong, it's been several years since the last big case of cruelty I saw on the news.

A person convicted of a second or subsequent violation of this subsection shall be required to pay a minimum mandatory fine of $5,000 and serve a minimum mandatory period of incarceration of 6 months. In addition, the person shall be released only upon expiration of sentence, is not eligible for parole, control release, or any form of early release, and must serve 100 percent of the court-imposed sentence. Any plea of nolo contendere shall be considered a conviction for purposes of this subsection.

So according to this article and the one Arceus posted, this guy:

-served three years at a Florida prison for aggravated assault on a person 65 years or older
-committed a felony DUI resulting in serious injury
-faced charges for fleeing from a law enforcement officer
-drug charges
-hit and run charges
-child abuse charges
-contributing to the delinquency of a child
-burglary
-went to prison for shooting two CHAINED dogs at point-blank range with a shotgun for "killing his daughter's rabbits" and he threatened a witness on top of that
-and now he slammed a flamingo on the ground by the neck hard enough to lead to her death without any provocation and apparently got amusement from it

Hope he either FINALLY gets the mental help he needs or gets the harshest sentence possible if he isn't actually mentally ill and is just a piece of complete trash (which is what I'm leaning towards, considering the wide variety of offenses he's committed and the fact that apparently his mental issues haven't been addressed if they exist after all of these charges, but I'm not the one to judge).

Yep I really can't give any care in the world for this person now let his charges be laid on him and he get some help or something worse honestly that sick **** needs something if he's going around doing a bunch of this crap.

The punchline to all this is that when he eventually does kill another human being, everybody will be like "How could this happen? There was no way for us to know this could have happened. This is why guns need to be banned."

Well I mean he clearly has mental issues and shouldn't be anywhere near a firearm.

Considering the list of charges he's had in the past I don't know why he isn't already in prison. He clearly needs it.

No I'm saying that humans are more sentient than animals, and the death of an animal, whose soul intention on this earth is have sex and then die isn't as bad as say a human with a purpose and future dying. I understand that it's sad and that he might not be the best human (Hell, I think he's a ****ty human being) but I don't think he should be put to goddamn death over this. Prison, yeah. But certainly not death. I'm also not worshiping him, I'm going at this from a logical standpoint. Whch, you're "why didn't anyone shoot him" is really illogical and an overreaction. Again, he just be put in prison, but not put to death. I'm sorry if I just value humans over animals, but you know what? You do do you, Queenchysalis. :^)

tl;dr: He's a ****ty person, yeah definitely, but putting him to death is drastic and an overreaction.

State laws in Florida are a little different from the rest of the US, iirc. I know we studied them in Criminal Justice, but I can't remember anything for the life of me so correct me if I'm wrong.
