Okay, that's a white-faced lie, when I was like 5 I saw this scene in a Rugrats movie I had to step away from where they went inside a human heart or something, because it made me feel too squicky. Unless it's HIGHLY stylised, characters shrinking down to enter other characters' bodies anywhere besides the brain and/or stomach still makes me feel a little squickly. If you ever want me to get you to cuddle up to you in fear, showing me a film all about that is the way to do it ;}
haha, true, but RaM is actually pretty tame compared to some of the other stuff on Adult Swim like Mr. Pickles (they're not really comparable but still)

Agreed, all animation, whether anime or western animation has the potential of being absolutely weird, because it can! Animation has the possibility of countless things and that is why anybody can enjoy it! Also while it's true that American animation and Japanese anime can be "weird", I've also seen some trippy cartoons from the European countries, so this is proof that any form of animation has the potential, but also a conversation starter if anyone has seen some interesting European cartoons.
All animation is weird simply by virtue of the fact that it is animated. None of us are about to spontaneously transform into CGI or 2D digital/hand drawn art, so it kind of has to be weird to be entertaining. Otherwise, what sets animation apart from live action shows? <.<;
