I thought they were talking about "eagle eyed fans" finding an actual Breath of Fire cartridge.

I dunno, this kind of rubs me the wrong way. Concept is interesting but I feel like it would be limited with each game having to be portable. Also salty about no backwards compatibility.

Also, I saw some talk about Super Mario Galaxy 3 in this topic. What is that about? Was that a thing that was confirmed?

I think a while ago nintendo said that Mario galaxy 3 wouldn't be released until their next console came out.

I think a while ago nintendo said that Mario galaxy 3 wouldn't be released until their next console came out.

Which isn't the same as saying that it's confirmed, it's just on the cards.

Bryman04 just said that at least he will have Galaxy 3. Well, it's not Galaxy 3 exactly, Nintendo just said that a 3D Mario was being made for the NX.

But Nintendo said that it will be something very different from usual, like The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild was different from the usual Zelda games. So I doubt it will be Galaxy 3, but we don't know.

Considering Nintendo's penchant for lying though its teeth. I say don't worry about it until we see pics. Because until then, it didn't happen.

Well, okay. We know for a fact that there will be a 3D Mario. I will keep calm and don't jump to conclusions, but I hope it's something entirely different as Nintendo said.

Well, either way, I'm sure excited for another 3D Mario Platformer, for the NX.

I just realised that the only Mario game on the Wii U I own is Mario Kart 8

I really hope we get a Galaxy 3. If it comes out for NX then the console will 100% be a must-buy. I love that series. It may actually be my #1 favorite game.

I love Galaxy too, but I have some reasons to not want a new one. I don't want to start trouble, so maybe it's better to not say why.

Actually it's about the trouble, since I try to be nice with that and have a good discussion. It's just that it's not important for the actual conversation.

If that trend continues it's a pretty good way to ensure that Video Gaming goes the same way as Idle Chatter did. You'll see All Purpose threads getting spammed here.

Not really sure I like the unconventional nature of this. I get Nintendo has a strong showing in the handheld market, even competing with smartphones, but the performance capabilities of such a console are concerning. If it can do no better than a PS4 then it's only good for first party games, as I would much prefer a DualShock 4 to... whatever that controller is supposed to be. Then again, Nintendo's only been good for first party games for roughly a decade now. Guess I was just hoping they could buck that trend. <.<;

it seems kinda inevitable as the sites population dies down, it would be better if both of those sections could stay alive but that's most likely not gonna happen.
besides all that it seems a little weird to move it after it has reached a second page, it should of been moved waaaay earlier to prevent any confusion.

NVIDIA Tegra's ARM is substantially different from IBM's PowerPC. The interpretation of instructions between two different architectures is redundant and will require a ground-up rewrite of every piece of software released thus far. A PowerPC co-processor for Wii U backwards compatibility is also too expensive to solder (MSRP will spike) and too power consumptive for mobile anyway.

They aren't really "limiting" anything by using cartridges, since, as I said before, there are a lot of advantages to using cartridges these days compared to the past.

I never said that the cartridges limited the console. The gimmick of being both a handhold and a household console limits the console greatly. The thing that I hate about cartridges is that they will make the NX look childish and make the console look like the Wii. Nintendo already has problems being known as the baby game company but Pokemon Go has brought back interest towards the company. I can see the NX start as a failure until the next Pokemon game comes out and stay at that until Smash 5 or Melee HD. That and cartridges cost way not to produce than discs.

Cartridges are good, here's why:
eMMC storage, tons faster than optical discs. Think solid state drives.
They can be dropped from space and still work.
No scratches to be heard of.
Have the potential of enabling a DLC/update partition so patches are applied to the game itself. Update on your copy, take it to a friend's house and play the updated game there.

Still taking this with a hint of salt. I don't like them power specs tbh... I hope it's more powerful than a ****ing smart phone.

It was a joke, dude. I was making fun of the people who say "Sonic 06/Sonic Unleashed = Sonic Adventure 3" by saying Super Mario 3D Word = Super Mario Galaxy 3, because it has Rosalina and Green Stars, part of it is in space and it's a 3D Mario game.

Hey GarbageMemes, nothing against you, but I feel you could be a little more educated. You know, no need to force the fact that the information is true. Even if it comes from trustful sources and the website has a good track record, it's not confirmed by Nintendo. So it's not true for now.

Tough I'm pretty sure the Wii U is more powerful than the majority of smartphones. And I hope the NX is at least at the level of the PS4.

The NX is being reported as a very cost effective hybrid console/handheld. Do you honestly think that Nintendo will release a $249.99 (anything above that price is suicide for Nintendo) handheld as powerful as the PS4? That would require a ridiculous loss in sales, which is something they certainly don't want especially when we are looking at Nintendo's sales for the WiiU.

Nintendo is not going to make a device that outperforms the PS4 Or Xbox One. They are not going to sell their shiny new product at a loss.

not to mention that the tegra x1 is designed as a mobile processor in the first place. its definitely not gonna beat out current competition in the specs department, besides that reggie has said about the nx that they are focusing on content rather than specs.

Yeah, hardware specs have not been something Nintendo have excelled at since, well, you could debate between the N64 or Gamecube on that one. The only thing I'll give them credit for is that some of their first party games do a remarkably better job handling 60 FPS than a lot of big budget games out there. But then you have others like Pokémon where the framerate's choppy as hell and laggyAF. <.<;

When I asked for a source, I was talking about a Smart Phone that's more powerful than the Wii U (Presumeably one that doesn't cost $1000), because that's a very wild statement. Sorry for not making that clear.

I do agree that the NX probably won't be as powerful as a real console. If it was, it would be just as heavy/power draining. So you'd have a heavy AF handheld that constantly needs to be plugged into a wall...

tbh im probably gonna buy this as soon like a year before the next nintendo console comes out because thats my life
