How do we truly know they are Christians or are doing it for kicks? Like they could just be lying?

What i usually do is i buy albums who i know is personally christians, but i dont blindly buy something promoting Jesus as a salesman.
For example there was this band which i liked, Pyramaze, it doesnt really have to be about straightout christian stuff just aslong as i know their soul is at the right place and doesnt contain any anti christian stuff, well i read on a forum where they was slightly confused. Some are i think but not all. Point is they are good enough for me. I happen to be a proud owner of their album "Bone Carver".

So i will try to figure out artist biography on a neutral album and see what they believe in and if i like the songs and album i will buy it and its good enough for me.

I used to like Alice in Chains and Pearl Jam, but i noticed on some of their earlier songs that some anti christian sentiments was there so i had to throw away the CDs. Which is a shame considering they are pretty good artists. Like "Alice in Chains - Dirt" is amazing more or less.

Either way i am just curious to your views?

Some singers are actually Christians like Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood.

Tbh, all religious music is trash (except for the actual religious music)

Plus, it's easy as hell to fake being religious. All you really have to do is quote a few verses, act nice and humble, and say Jesus a couple times a day. It's really not difficult...

I think south park did something about this sorta thing. The consensus was that you could take any love song and basically replace all the words that refer to a person, and put "god" in place. Makes sense to me...

Well its not that. I mean i see the joke . My problem is i don't 100% trust that people who slap Jesus on something are genuine people, some may be doing it purely for cash from gullible people. Which is why i am more inclined to trust regular bands with artists who happens to be christians in terms of their background, and thats good enough for me if i know their albums dont have anti christian sentiment or if their songs is actually good, then i can chill to that. When it comes to Christian songs i can go to church and that helps me every sunday which helps, communion especially.

Well with the exception of this group, which i have a feeling are christians, or that i trust my brother too much, he used to listen to it often and i like some of their songs
