It really isn't. Most of the stuff before 2010 was really good. After that it got a little hit or miss and Descendants was a miss. Bad Hair Day from the same year as Descendants was a better movie. I could make a giant list of CinemaSins for Descendants.

Agreed for most part, though I kinda liked some of the first Teen Beach. Second wasn't needed at all though.
Some of the best Disney Channel movies imo were Motocrossed, Wendy Wu, Right on Track, & Now You See It. Really liked High School Musicals, Stuck in the Suburbs, Cadet Kelley, Double Teamed, Don't Look Under the Bed, Go Figure, Read it and Weep, Cow Belles, Minutemen, and the first Twitches. Girl vs Monster was cool and might've made an interesting show.

Good Luck Charlie had it's moments.
Girl Meets World at least tries to teach a lesson in most if not every episode and gets an A for effort imo.

Otherwise yeah, it's pretty bad.

As for the decedents, itself, the movie as a concept just pisses me off. Mainly for continuity reasons.

The continuity errors are annoying but I try to let them slide. Kristen Chenoweth being cast as Maleficent and Cruella de Ville being regarded as "One of the worst of all time" then not being borderline anorexic is what really pisses me off. I'm even ok with Cruella being black for the sake of diversity even though she wasn't in any other instance ever. She still needs to be skinny af tho and being in poverty won't fatten you up.

They are complete opposites but even then their differences complete each other. The other family members include Joey a nerdy cat living nerd, Parker the slightly younger but really intelligent one, the dad who is really sporty to the point he is literally a school coach, and a mom who is the vice principal of their school.
The show uses opposites to compare and bring out the personalities, with a couple moments of one side showing characteristics of the other.
Example 1: In one episode Maddie hides a pair of girly heels she likes (her sister was using her as a mirror to see how well she would fit in them)
Example 2: Parker has a deep obsession with a show within the show (showception!) called Linda&Heather which reflects Joey's "fanboy" moments.

The supporting cast is also really funny and the show has some absolutely HEARTBREAKING moments, your eyes will be crying rivers at least 5 times, especially in Season 2 and 3.
It's a lot funnier when you actually get into it, I can't even watch some of the older seasons because it would just make me sad knowing what happens afterwords.

Literally of these are pulled from other Disney shows.
Joey is the nerd, so he's probably written kind of like Justin from Wizards of Waverly Place.
Parker is the immature one (according the site.) So he's probably the little brother and the older brother from Good Luck Charlie (arguably one of the better Sitcoms actually.) Mixed with Jackson from Hannah Montana.

The only two characters that I'd say have a speck of originality here are the Mom and Dad.

Parker is an adventurous and courageous boy to a manipulative, scheming, teenage inventor. He shows a tendency to behave older than he is with his friends and family. Despite he is usually being lazy, messy, and childish, Parker has a great love for science and for his family.

Joey's more of the "video gaming, larping in public, comic book wielding" nerd, Parker is the "Scientist" type.

And just because one show did it, doesn't mean they can't use the formula in a different way.

If you want to talk about similarities between Disney shows, Girl meets World follows a very similar structure to Boy meets World for obvious reasons.

Since we don't know how cecaelian sea witches have babies, it's very possible they lay eggs which need to be fertilized.
