On a PG level, a furry is simply someone who enjoys media (shows, movies, games, books, etc.) that involve human-like (anthropomorphic) animals. (Anthropomorphism isn't a particularly necessary feature, it's argued that simply having talking animals that make human-like expressions is enough (think Finding Nemo/Dory or Lion King).)

Furries are generally referred to as a bad thing for certain types of full-body cosplay (fursuits) and fetishes that go along with that. Along with that is just how much explicit artwork is drawn involving such types of creatures.

Anything more you need to know you'd probably want to talk with someone one-on-one and possibly offsite due to how easy it may be to drift into explicit territory.

Skylanders Academy Season 2 was an improvement.
I don't know what to think of Skylanders' future.
