How does a $70 mouse mat differ from a cheap $20 one? I can get mouses bring more expensive but why can mats get more expensive?

It can vary based on design I suppose as well as if you have a simple flat pad, one of those with the built in wrist cushion, if the cushion is designed to look like an anime character's butt/boobs (these exist....). I can't justify charging $70 for one, much less paying it, but I can understand a slight fluctuation in price.

Those things are dangerous. They can give you RSI.. In both hands!

Boring real talk incoming;
Seriously though, the problem with waifu pads is that your wrist will get stuck in the "crevice", preventing you from keeping your wrist strait when operating the mouse, thus promoting the development of RSI.

Unless you have a desktop table then no. Besides you can still buy a normal mouse mat. Dont have to be expensive

If your mouse costs $200-$300, I think you'd want a good mouse pad for it.

I've noticed some differences in mouse mats (some are a lot thicker than others, different designs, and of course the extras like the wrist pads) but I can't imagine how good a $70+ one is. Personally, I don't like it when they're super thin and floppy, so mine are always within the $20 range or less because I like designs on mine and I want them to be thick.

I forgot how much mine was (because I can't find it online anymore smilie ) but it was definitely within the $20 range. Here it is:

They misspelled "kidnapping" which bothers me but eh.
I've had it for years and it's super dirty (it's not supposed to be that brown, though the camera makes it look way worse than it is)... I need to replace it soon.
