Stupid Amazon Question [CLOSED]

How you doing, folks? Well, it's almost Friday. We got there. Anyway, I have a question to ask you guys that I do not know the answer to. So, I'm thinking of buying something online from Amazon. However, it's only on Amazon UK. Not wanting to use a credit card, I'll buy a gift card instead, and just use that. However, since I live in America, would the gift card be able to work for purchasing this item, or would I have to use my credit card? Thanks for the help.

im pretty sure it rejects usd in your account when buying something off the uk site but im not sure

Thanks for the help. I guess I might have to go credit card, then?

EDIT: Sorry for bumping this topic again, but I have another question. The item says that it's free shipping if the order is over 20 dollars. But my order isn't just 20 dollars. What does that mean for the shipping cost?
