I really hope it's a musical. I'm already impressed with what was playing in the trailer.

The misspelled Zootopia at the beginning of trailer and called it "Zootropolis" unless "Zootropolis" is a Disney short.

Zootopia can also mean Zootropolis, so it's ok.

Zootropolis is actually the European name of Zootopia.

You'll enjoy it now.

But once you see it, it will become the new Frozen, and have an all new let it go.

Then you'll wish you let this movie go.

"GET IT? HE'S THE ROCK."

Looks good and I'm hopeful for it, but I wouldn't be surprised if it doesn't turn out as good as Zootopia.

I don't want to compare them, 'cause I feel like that's unfair to Moana.

In general, it's not a good idea for them to be releasing two films in one year, because automatically the film premiering first is going to be building a standard.

Look at Pixar. Inside Out was so highly acclaimed, that it only further cemented that The Good Dinosaur was a mistake. It's a shame because I thought both films were good.
Had it of come out before Inside Out, I doubt it would have been critiqued so harshly.

Inside Out is overrated though.

I recommend it. I think that the good points are good enough to make the flaws tolerable. It's a good flick. Plus the background visuals are enough to make it worth watching.

If the film is going to be Polynesian Frozen I think it'll survive just fine.

I think part of the reason to release it this year, with Disney skipping 2017 entirely, is because Pixar themselves are releasing two films next year, and Disney doesn't want to drown the box office returns for any of them (or any of their other non-animated films, e.g. Marvel and Star Wars). It does feel like there's a bit of a pattern going on here.

I absolutely agree.

Easy: Just ignore Cars 3 and push Moana back to 2017.

Coco looks interesting though, to say the least.

I hope that both Disney and Pixar get back on schedule. As fun as it is to have two films come out in one year, I'd rather it be split up if it means having none the next.

As long as Moana is a musical Disney has nothing to worry about.

Cars 3 is supposedly going to be more emotional and less..........merch-pushing, as the second. I'll be cautiously optimistic.

Well so far both studios have just one film scheduled for 2018 (Gigantic and Toy Story 4), though Disney hasn't said anything for 2019 to go alongside Incredibles 2 (Frozen 2?) and Pixar has two unnamed projects listed for 2020 so expect the cycle to get ****ed again.

To be honest, I really do like the original Cars, so if it's going to match in tone I wouldn't mind seeing it.
But Cars is the Pixar movie least warranting of having a sequel, let alone two of them.

I'm so confused on Frozen 2. Is it happening? Has Disney ever actually officially put it in their future lineup, or were they referring to Frozen Fever?

Gigantic is a great idea, but why are they coming out with the live action rendition, BGF, the year before? Again, odd timing.
Also, if you want to get really anal about it there's also the animated short film of Jack and the Beanstalk they did bundled with Bongo way back when Walt was still alive.

IT'S THE CIRCLE OF LIFE

It's not the fact of meaning in the words, it's the fact of misspelling or name change. Idk about you, but it sort of bothers me.

Oh I did not know that. I wonder why they changed the name in other regions.

Anyway, some prodding suggests that the problem may relate to a proposed Danish zoo called Zootopia. Is that plausible? Well, it seems that the problem may less be with supposed (again unlikely) confusion between a film and an as-yet-unbuilt Scandinavian animal attraction than with legal problems concerning merchandising. It does look as if the zoo has registered itself in the UK to flog hats, teeshirts and the like. If this is the problem why won’t Disney own up to it. We can only assume they have been so advised by m’learned friends.

Most plausible explanation.
