I missed the good days when Minecraft was in alpha when playing it in 2010. It was one of those indies. Now today you see it literally everywhere in stores, especially Walmart, because that's where I found them having posters and shirts in 2013. And now it has became more of a childrens game, which throws me off a bit. Also other things like Microsoft and too many updates. Minecraft isn't the same anymore.

I'm one of many who jumped on the highly spacious Minecraft bandwagon before it even became one. Anyone else with me?

The game itself hasn't changed when it comes to its charm and features. However, I just stopped catching up on updates. Snapshots come out when you least expect it and when you think they'd take a break after 1.9, bam, 1.10 snapshots already happening and I have no time to go to r/Minecraft and actually see what's added.

I also have this weird dread playing the game and I'm always too stressed out,but I love watching good content from it like modded or the Mindcrack group. I have a survival Ice Spikes castle project that's been sitting there since 1.8 and I can't bring myself to open the game again :C

i miss minecraft when it wasn't so popular. all the mincraft merchandise makes me cringe. the updates have been turning minecraft into some weird rpg and i feel like minecraft just shouldn't be one.

and this is more of a pet peeve for me: i hate those stupid ****ing minecraft animations on youtube i hate the style they're so stupid i hope they burn in hell

I don't mind the combat updates and the new creatures and blocks, but every time they purposefully kill a way of farming materials I just scratch my head. If someone's going out of the way to create a mob farm or everything else farm without modded, then they probably invested enough resources they're close to endgame. There's no 'making too easy' in a game where you have to get thousands of everything to begin with.

The community is definately impossible to get on unless you start a trend. Reddit's system kicks everything that doesn't get immediate attention to page 2, the Curse forums suck triple what DS does in terms of intrusive ads(also tons of kids), everywhere else is usually too tightly-knit.
Though dunno about the RPG aspect, it still allows you to play in the usual way, though I guess more than ever you need to have the wiki on another tab because they still insist on being that small indie game with no tutorials or modding API instead of improving where it needs most.

Yeah, Bifrost and Ostrich expressed my feelings. I've given up on the updates, I miss when it wasn't as popular and it's community and fanbase were nice. There are a couple of other things but mostly, I'm just meh about minecraft.

Idk the only thing that keeps me playing it is servers such as Mineplex etc. Singleplayer is boring, and realms is just singleplayer that costs money to play with friends.

I never like Minecraft. Never really minded the merchandising... Just wish the toys were done by anyone other than Jazwares. I freaking hate that company. I did buy a Creeper toy, though. Thought it looked cool at the time. Now, I regret that purchase because of how cheap it really is.

And Tube Heroes is the worst thing ever.

I've always kept an open mind when each update was released, but I'd be lying if I said I played Minecraft very much anymore. When I first started playing back in 1.1, it was such a fascinating experience, having a new, nearly endless world to explore and create in, but a lot of that initial wonder has worn off lately. It was the learning experience that made the game fun, but now it's a game I know a lot about and only ever play every once in a while.

i like the flowers and the horses and the rabbits.

i really dont think i care for anythng past that, plus people who play minecraft ON YOUTUBE (AHHHH) nowadays are really cringey imo

I don't mind Minecraft updates. I try to keep it to myself that I play Minecraft around other people because the community is so cringey that I prefer not to be associated with it. I like the new updates, but my lord is the new combat mechanic so bad. If I swing, I have to wait depending on what i'm using to attack to attack again at full power. If I miss, the meter still goes down wtf so I have to be open for that amount of time then I can swing again??? And wtf you can't even spam with your fist, making killing baby slimes stupid annoying. Nothing was ever too broken about spam attacking, that's just how Minecraft was. I'd do anything to get it changed back.

Yogscast (Simon and Lewis) is still kinda funny, though.
