I stopped believing in Santa the moment I started asking for video games for Christmas... How does Santa make my Wii?

Tooth Fairy... Probably 10 or 11.

My parents never made me believe in Santa really. He was the guy that sold them the gifts. Easter Bunny is a real bunny that visits the school and that's it.

But tell me about witches needing to be scared off in Halloween and heck yeah I was made to believe. Half the reason I love the holiday so much despite being near nonexistent in Brazil.

Guys, there might be kids here who still believe.
Granted, it's kinda hard to believe in Santa in today's world, cuz you can just google "is Santa real?"

Anyways, I was 8, I was in 2nd grade. I was very excited for Christmas, and so were my classmates... Except for one boy, who kept saying "Santa isn't real! It's your parents!" every time a kid would mention Santa. Of course, the other kids refused to believe this "impossible lie", and decided to prove Santa's existence the only way a person could: by asking the other kids if Santa was real. When they said yes, they took that as undeniable evidence. The teacher eventually found out that the boy had been telling kids there was no Santa, and he got in trouble.
When I went home, I asked my mom if Santa was real. She said yes, buuuuut, little baby CF didn't entirely believe that. So I kept asking her if Santa was really real, and eventually she asked me "do you want the truth?" I said yes and she said "he's not real".
I cried.

The end.

K LEMME FIX THE TITLE JUST INCASE

It took me a while to stop believing in Santa actually, probably until late elementary school or early middle school.
I don't think I ever believed in the Easter Bunny...
I think I stopped believing in the Tooth Fairy when I was pretty young (approx. first to third grade) because my dad let it slip since I mentioned that I didn't get a dollar and he just gave me four quarters and said, "Just put this under your pillow."

I wasn't heartbroken by any of these revelations, haha

I dunno, at max it was 4th grade. I remember not really caring at all though. I think it was more gradually growing distant from the idea and then confirmation? Idk, something like that.

Anyway, I think the whole concept is stupid. If I ever have kids (unlikely coz forever alone) there's no way in hell I'm gonna tell them they're real.

I was pretty young, like 7 or 8.
I take care of two kids that are 10 and 11 and they still believe in all of the above. I think it's good for kids to believe in this sort of stuff, and I'm gonna try to keep them believing for as long as possible. They love waking up to tiny, glittery letters from the tooth fairy and stuff. <3

When I read this topic and stories, I decided to ask my mom. The conversation went as following,
"Mama, I just read on (Insert forum name here, this one.) and it said Santa and the Tooth Fairy aren't real, is this true?"
"Well, what do you think?"
"(Tells her about the following stories.)"
"Well, that's true."
I FIGURED IT OUT! I also found out that's why I never got my talking Lugia, why we have to sit on Santa's lap, why my Dad knew about the Easter Bunny, and why you need to talk to your parents about loosing a tooth!
Even though Santa, Easter Bunny, and Tooth Fairy are fake, I still believe in Christmas Miracles/Christmas Spirits. Like, Wishes and Miracles happening on Christmas.
I started getting suspicious about the Tooth Fairy when I was 8, tho. Or 7 smilie

It's hard to believe in Santa when your parents are poor. If you do, you're forced to cope with the fact that Santa gives out presents based on socio-economic status rather than his so-called "naughty or nice" list.

I lost my innocence in Santa, EB, and Tooth Fairy at age 8
How it happened for "Santa": At the mall the fake Santa told me he wasn't real. (Then quickly after I found the presents in my mom's closet)
How it happened for the "Easter Bunny": My dad thought a big goodie basket in a tree was a safe idea, he broke his ankle. Also my cat at the time liked to attack bunnies that would wander into our yard.
How it happened for the "Tooth Fairy": I stayed awake to try and catch her and saw my mom walk in thinking I was asleep.

I never got told these lies as a child. I didn't know who Santa, The Tooth Fairy and The Easter Bunny were until 2nd grade.

I lost my faith in Father Christmas very early in my childhood years, about 5 – 7 is the age gap. It is easy to lose faith in that kind of thing when on Christmas one of the family members dresses in very poor costume and reeks of cigars and booze while giving presents and talking in highly lazy manner.

I have never believed in any other minor imaginary characters since the culture of them, such as toothfairy and Easter bunny, are quite non-existent in Finnish culture.

I don't remember when exactly I found out, but knowing me I didn't care either way.

Of course, it did lead to me thinking about how Santa is a stupid lie in the first place. Teaching kids to be good with the promise that they'll get cool new toys seems like a crappy lesson if you ask me.
