Seriously, why are people so up in arms about this goddamn video?

I love James, I've been watching him for many years. He doesn't deserve that hate he's getting. It's sad that everybody that dislikes something must be called sexist or whatever. Not liking Obama? It must be because you're racist! Don't think Ghostbusters looks good? Sexist! And so on.

The people that get upset over this stuff are the very vocal minority. It's best to not give them attention because then they might feel like they're actually making a coherent argument that's worth discussing.

I've seen soooo many people I like and respect say how much of an asshole James is because of this video. What the hell? Who came to the defense of Jack and Jill or Zookeeper or any other crappy comedy like that when their awful trailers debuted? Hmmm...

When are people going to realize that it isn't going to be bad because it has a female cast and understand it just looks like a really bad movie to a vast, VAST majority?

The female cast isn't the freaking problem, the movie itself is the problem. The movie looks terrible because from a moviegoer's perspective, it doesn't look good. The writing isn't funny, the effects look awful, and the mood is just overall cringeworthy. ANYONE could be playing the ghostbusters and I guarantee it would've gotten the same reaction just from the fact that it's a reboot of a beloved franchise alone.

That, and they're too focused on making something inclusive and progressive instead of making it a good movie. There's no point in being inclusive if the movie ends up being horrible. At that point, being inclusive comes first and making a good movie comes second, and if in any case making a good movie comes second then your movie has already failed.

When the film comes out and scores in the 10% range due to a trash tier script and blatant cash grabbing by Sony (the same company that has done blatant cash grabbing with the Smurfs and Spiderman IPs in the recent past, and will do to Sonic in the near future), I wonder what the defense will be then?

I don't think there's a single person out there that is expecting this to be a good movie and I haven't heard anybody claim that would be the case because it's an all female cast. While I don't doubt people like that exist out there (and they rightfully should be called out), those who are quick to throw that defense card up need to realize that the trailer we saw was not good to begin with, regardless if it was all female cast or even the original cast.

I watched the video, said "yeah I agree" then moved on. Are people really this sensitive? He never insults anything, or anyone in the video, he is calm (much to the opposite of his alter ego), and has logical thinking. Like, c'mon people...

The reason I don't want to see it is not because of the all-female cast, but because it just looks like a terrible movie. It honestly feels like a trashy Deviantart fan fiction that became a movie - just a rip off of the old one with one change that's not even worth it.

It looks better than the last one but expectations are still low.

All of this backlash he's getting is totally unnecessary. James was an established fan of the Ghostbusters series – so it would make sense for him to make a video expressing his disinterest in the new movie since people will constantly ask him about it.

It's just that the SJWs haven't had something to **** on for a week too many. Just look at all the clickbait sites now calling AVGN a "well known mysognist man-baby"; if they can destroy someone's reputation to feel better about themselves,they don't hesitate, it's how bullies act.

James probably made the video to kill any expectation from his fans, but the thing about the internet is that destructive opinions can come from people that will never care about you work instead of fans(even the crazy ones).

uh-huh, sure, as AVGN he's a bit of a man baby, sorta, but he's NEVER made any slurs against women, and that's a god-damned act, and I pity the fool that thinks he's actually like that.

It's just a calm video about not wanting to see a movie that looks bad. Such an awful position to take!

Honestly I wasn't really gonna watch the movie after doing some research on the new ghostbusters film. I'd like to compare it to some recent remakes of good cartoons (Teen Titans and Powerpuff Girls) actually. Because that's exactly what it appears to be, a remake because they could not get the original cast. Honestly I would not mind the ghostbusters being female, if it were a continuation of the series. Like say the GhostBusters were big enough to have a exterminator-esque nation wide business, and these women were hired in another state. But nope it's a remake that's not really looking good.

While researching, I did notice that there was a few scripts and plots the producers/whomever does the films had, but since they can't get the actors (or got the actors but were having issues) they scrapped it for a remake. Some of those plots being a character being turned into a ghost and the ghost buster team heading to hell. While discussing this found info with a friend we were coming up with other plots and such. Most of which were off the top of our heads and typed under 5 minutes. While Hollywood only had a few idea in under a couple of years of what they finally settled on a remake (Which to me is the lazy way out. Granted there's some re-writing, but it's not great).

That said, I don't get why people are attacking people who don't like the new GhostBusters. Other than assuming they're SJWs that suck the life out of everything. Honestly if the film was of a nation wide GhostBusters company hiring females, I don't think these reviewers would be as upset. But it's a remake, so yeah.

Sorry for going to type out a paragraph about this. I needed to get this off of my chest.
