Just about everyone has gotten a school detention in their lifetime. Are there any funny or stupid reasons one of you guys got one?

This is not particularly funny, but a guy was throwing pennies in the hallway. He hit me in the ear and I just ****ing decked him. Keep in mind, I am deaf in my left ear, so it really REALLY hurt when it collided with it. Worth it, though. I was in 8th Grade when it happened.

I was depressed..... that's really it....

How do you get a detention from being depressed?! That's the exact opposite thing a school should do!

I got detention once for being bullied and trying to rat the kid out.

I got detention for not eating my lunch in first grade.

Same, although I've seen some suspensions get handed out.

I got the opposite, pats in the head where I should've been gotten detention. Sure, bullying sucks and I wasn't myself at that point, but it's obvious I can no longer stay in the room when I smack a kid with pencils so hard they all break. I just got some 'oh she's the class' victim don't listen to them gurl' speech and got sent back.
Can't say it wasn't a blessing as it is, the kids were really shady and nowadays I'm thankful I didn't get beat up outside or something - guess my clear emotional distress was reward enough.

Have I told you guys 7th grade to 2nd year of high school ****ing sucked for me yet? I don't think I did.

It's true.

I got sent to detention in Highschool for telling my principle not to look at my boobs when he told me my shirt was too low cut.
Then there was the time I got detention on the day we had to take photos for our IDs. Everytime the lady started to take my picture I would strike a pose, and after about the 4th time I got kicked out of the line and a write up.
I had after school detention for fighting a friend of mine with giant inflatable Spiderman boxing gloves...
Yeah, those are all the semi-funny ones.

elementary school sucked ass.

i never got detention because i was boring one time i got in trouble in like 3rd grade because another kid would not stop talking to me so it got us both in trouble

all my detentions were for not doing homework or class work in time : (

I was given detention because someone stole my gym clothes out of my locker and so I couldn't wear the right outfit for gym.

I never got detention.

I also never got detention. Never got a date either, but all the guys who kept going to detention did. I should've gotten myself in trouble more often.

-In second grade I got suspended for a week because I wasn't reading a song off a piece of paper because I had already ****ing memorized it.
-In fifth grade I was sent home and told to see a psychologist because I was "too antisocial". All I wanted to do was stay in for recess and read instead of getting my routine bullying session. We saw a psychologist the next day and she wrote a note saying I was perfectly fine, and that my problem was I was being bullied. My teacher didn't believe me and she transferred me to another class, where I was still bullied immensely.

TL ; DR: My elementary school was super ****ed up.

I didn't get detention, but I remember in elementary school I got sent to the principal's office for bringing a Coke to lunch, because it was "unhealthy".

I got a detention for running on the playground bridge once in the 3rd grade even though everyone did that every single recess. I will never forget how mad I was at that teacher. What was worse, I had another detention from a teacher at the same time for having too messy of a desk and they made my detention at the same time and I didn't know what to do so I stayed and cleaned my desk and got in trouble again with the other teacher. I hated third grade.

Well, people who did have a good time all around in school won't have a reason to post :U I did have a great 3rd year of high school at a new place, but it was just one year so no real bonds with people, I just say hi to people I find on the street or in uni.

The only time I got in trouble in middle to high school is one time in eighth grade when I typed "hurry the **** up Cassie" on the computer because we were doing a project for social studies class and she was making up a poem for it off the top of her head, and I thought I'd joke around with her. The school computers have software installed on them that catch it when students type certain words and it sends a picture to the office with the account name of the person, so they caught me and gave me a lunch detention. (I skipped it and no one noticed tho, shhh)

But elementary school... I went to the office at least once a year... Most of it I do think was warranted (I did some bad stuff when I was young), but I'll never forget the time when a kid said something rude to my friend in elementary school (about first or second grade) and I threatened to "beat him up at recess" (which I would never actually do; I'm a wimp!) and got sent to the office for it. That's fine and all, but they said to my parents that I was racist because the kid was black. I was like 6 or 7 years old, do they really think I knew what race was or had any prejudice against any race (no, my parents weren't racist either)? I just said it because he said something rude to my friend, I didn't give a **** if he was white, black, purple, or blue.
I guess I could see them thinking that, though. The kid, when he gave his account, probably omitted the part where he said something that instigated it and that it wasn't just me going after him out of the blue, because that definitely would be bad. Actually, it was so long ago that I don't remember if I actually heard him say it or if I just heard someone say he said it. Maybe he didn't say anything at all. Idfk. I was very sure that he did, that's why I said that. Not to justify it though, even if he did say that it was still wrong of me to respond like that and I do regret it.

I also got in big trouble in second grade for writing things on my folders like "*name* is so mean" and childish **** like that when people pissed me off. I remember the day a bunch of girls sitting on the other side of the table read them all off and then told the teacher, lol. At least I'm pretty sure it was all childish stuff and nothing seriously bad. Not like in fourth grade. Definitely the worst year I've ever had.

I got detention for reading when I was supposed to be paying attention. Detention was in the library. You can guess what I did for the entire time.

for catching a chair that was thrown at me. instantly i slammed the chair at the ground so the same wont happen to my face and it broke. 5 days of expel.

I was in fifth grade, and at the time all the kids would draw on the seats on the bus with an eraser. We had a substitute bus driver that day and she caught me doing it and she got all anal. She was like, "YOU'RE IN SO MUCH TROUBLE YOU CAN'T DO THAT HFGISULDHFGUSDH" and being the little shrew I was, I started crying.
When I went to the principal's office he was just kind of confused and said, "Uh... well. Just don't do it again, I guess..."
What a stupid bus driver. What crawled up her ass?

WAY back in third grade, I got a time out during recess because I tried to use my friend as a human shield during a game of tag.

Okay, so a few years ago I got a detention for throwing a carrot at somebody (SMH they threw it at me first )

Shoutout to my demerit for 'bad colouring' too.

I never got detention. Judge me.

But I can say I was in the dead line some times. I was a big target for bullies for good part of my life in school, and I had a short fuse. Let me just say that, while I was weak, I could get really mad if someone keeps annoying me.

I'm still weak and I still have short fuse (but only if people keep annoying me), but it's a little more controllable.

I know I've gotten a detention every year since 2nd grade other than Sophomore year, but I'm not sure if I can remember them all, but here are all the ones I can remember.

2nd grade: There was a kid behind my chair sitting on the floor for whatever reason, and I didn't know that or expect there to be a kid on the floor behind me, so I backed my chair up so I could sharpen my pencil or something and I accidentally hit the kid with my chair, and I got a detention for that.

4th grade: One of the lunch ladies who took her job as a elementary lunch lady too seriously, called Mrs. Cash, and she would always tell our table off because we were too loud, so I drew a picture of her, but really fat, and titled it "Mrs. Cash (aka Mrs. Fatso)".

5th grade: Fighting.

6th grade: I got punched in the face twice and cried both times, but since my middle school had a zero tolerance policy, I got in trouble both times.

7th grade: I was "sexually harassing" a girl by saying the number 69 completely in non-sexual context, and a teacher overheard and wrote me up about it. I've posted a more detailed version on here somewhere.

8th grade: Wrote on the bathroom wall to be edgy :/

Freshman year: Fighting on the bus

Junior year: "Skipping" class. The class I had to go to had a sign on the door saying "Testing, do not disturb" on it, so I went to the library instead because I didn't know where to go. Half way through, I was feeling sick, so I went to the bathroom, and then I got called down next class because apparently they forgot to take the sign down and my class was going on in there. I haven't done anything stupid since Sophomore year, so I like to pretend that this doesn't exist because it's a pretty BS excuse imo.

I've gotten two this year so far.

One for racing down the halls with trash cans when my friends and I were asked to get them for a teacher

One for yelling "Look out he's got a gun" when there was a fire drill in the cafeteria.

They were both worth it.

I scratchiti'd smiley faces and "LOL" on my desk with a compass needle in the 6th grade.

Back in 7th grade, there was this lunch table made up of these boys that would always do the worst things. They would curse, fight, scream and run around the cafeteria like animals. They got sent to the principles' office too many times to count. However, the worse thing they did was blow up a bag of chips in the middle of lunch, and then screamed "BOMB!" People were freaking out, and it took a while for everyone to settle down. They got sent to the principle's office, and then they weren't allowed to sit together again. However, the following week, they were all back at the table.

Not a detention story or a story of me getting punished, but a memorable event nonetheless.

In kindergarden, I got sent to the principle's office and written up for pushing an elevator button. I didn't get in when it opened, I didn't even get out of line. I hadn't been told not to prior to doing so, I hadn't done anything else before hand to anger my teacher. I didn't even disturb anybody trying to get on or off. I saw a button and pushed it. Door opened and closed. Sent to office, no warning or anything.
