Nobody said Thunderfury, blessed blade of the Windseeker... Well... I did... Just now... But that's not my point. Nobody said Thunderfury, blessed blade of the Windseeker until YOU said Thunderfury, blessed blade of the Windseeker.

Man, could've sworn I heard someone say Thunderfury, Blessed Blade of the Windseeker. Strange.

i'm flashbacks of late nights during the summer as a kid when i'd sit in any main city and just chill. i loved to ride my mount around and fish in the lakes, and i'd see that all the time, usually followed by others starting to link it too

good times

Honestly, I only started playing a couple years ago. Makes me jealous when I hear folks say they've played since vanilla, or at least WotLK.

Ha!, I only started during the winter. If you want to add me, look up Theuone1492.

Also, we've all said Thunderfury, Blessed Blade of the Windseeker.

I have flashbacks of not being allowed to get World of Warcraft because there was no way my parents would pay for a monthly subscription on a videogame.

You can play it without money, however, you can only get to lv20 (out of 100 currently), you can have only 10 gold (there are stuff costing over 10000), and many features are unaccessable without a subscription. To put it simply, you're limited without money.

You can also buy game time in-game for a hefty amount of gold, though you'd have to physically pay for a subscription before you could save up the gold for it.

SO THAT was you who just sent me a request, alright Dragon Lover.

And yeah, and even then, it's still not very possible, never even reached 10000 myself with my main character ... I think it it has to do something with the garrisons players get in Warlords of Draenor ... a 90-100 level expansion.

These days, there are just better options. I really enjoyed playing StarTrek Online with my friends, though I spent most of that time dicking around crafting weapons and selling them on the market smilie

I've wanted to find another game where you could just make and sell equipment, but I never was able to. The few games I've seen with a crafting system like that, it's mostly just part of the self improvement system, Terraria style.

I as harsh as it sounds, I would really recommend not getting into WoW at the moment. It's an outdated, dying game, and Blizzard still seems to be intent on milking it for all it's worth (how many expansions were they thinking of adding still?).
It's gotten to the point where they're not even releasing subscriber numbers anymore, supposedly because "it's not relevant" and "there are other ways to tell a good game than by looking at it's player count". Yeah, right. In non-bull**** that means: "Our game is barren and we don't want you to know about it".

Even the simple idea of a monthly subscription fee alone is enough to repel me. I have a friend who has spent like 1.5k (even more in USD) on WoW in total. I have maybe put that much money on video games in general during my entire life. Would he have bought it if it was 1.5k up front with no subscription fees? Not likely.
The issue stands out even more nowadays when there are great games that you can play absolutely free. You could go and download Guild Wars 2 right now free of charge, play the game free of charge, explore the whole map (with the exception of 4 expansion zones out of 32 zones in total) free of charge, and finish the basic storyline free of charge. There are no character level/money/PvP restrictions of any kind. Compared to that, 15 dollars a month just to get to play a game is just money gouging, pure and simple.

In response to Samius's comment about Blizzard's milking WoW, I'm quite inclined to agree. Truthfully, I feel as though making WoW completely free to play would draw a great number of veterans and newbies alike to the game; it's not like they need the money, not after the eleven year run that they've had, and that's not to mention their other products (including BlizzCon.) The subscription issue caused me to shy away from WoW for a long time, but it's like freakin' crack -- tried it one time and now I'm addicted as all get-out. (Not that I would know anything about crack...)

I do feel as though Blizz has made WoW much easier than it's been in the past in order to remedy its dying fanbase, with the introduction of heirlooms and game tokens, but I believe they're gonna have to pull a complete volte-face if they want their success extended... if even it could be.
