Let's talk about this type of skylanders that are downright impossible to collect at present time. Not the ones that are $300 on Amazon, because it's still possible to get them if you're rich. Only ones that are literally impossible.

I don't know many myself, but aren't some of the holiday employee versions considered impossible? I might have seen a note on the package or somewhere else saying "Not for resale", unless somebody broke the rules and put it for sale online. Also what about Trap Team? There were a lot of offs about the figure line.

Even Employee figures some people will resell against that advice. And the latter is pretty rare but still exists.

I'm probably not getting most of the lineups to begin with. No interest on several, no need for the majority, no money for everything rarer than a Krypt King.

There has never been an employee edition that I have not been able to find on EBay sooner or later.

I can't think of any that someone doesn't try to sell, even if numbers are low - MIB Spyro, Gill Grunt, et al. I know someone will counter with some factory error one-off that they own, but it is fair to say that a rational person does not include them within this scope.

The rarest items are Red Camo and Crystal Whirlwind and even they are both available if you just bide your time and keep an eye on EBay.

Employee and event exclusive edition are not impossible to get because some of the people who got them sell them publicly even if the packaging says "Not for resale". Pretty much everything can be bought on eBay/Amazon if you have the money.

Patina Burn-Cycle, which has pretty much been confirmed as real, is near impossible to get due to extremely low quantities at the moment, but they might decide to make him available at random in a restock of Burn-Cycle toys.

The only other thing that comes to my mind are the E3 2011 edition of Spyro, Trigger Happy and Gill Grunt.

I'm pretty sure anything is possible with enough money. For me the impossible Skylander ITEM to get is that danged art book "Strata: The Art of Skylanders Swap Force." I think so far only three copies has been on ebay in the last two years and of course the last one was a buy it now that I didn't get the notice for in time. Even with a fist full of dollars, it's not very likely you'll be able to get one of these without a lot of begging around just to find someone willing to part with one. Worse is that it's a secret cult item where Activision will hunt you down and kill you dead if you share any images of it with anyone, so I've only seen very little of the actual book. It's a holy grail of Skylanders to me.

Physical CD copies of the Skylanders soundtracks are also "impossible" to find.

I'd say the hardest ones to get would be New-in-box Spyro, Trigger Happy, and Gill Grunt from the 2011 (?) E3 show. There was a large collector who used to hang out here (might still?) that was willing to throw large amounts of cash down for Gill Grunt and I am unsure if he ever found it.

Series 1 Eruptor. God dammit that one always escapes from me.

The irony of that is my son got a SSA Eruptor before the game was even released - it is how the family got into the game. Hence, when I bought a three-pack it was a duplicate for me and I sold it to someone for a few bucks...

S1 Eruptor is still availible to buy new from stores in sweden

I can not find Spotlight anywhere but Amazon, and I am not willing to pay $33 for her, but she is the only Trap Team Series 1 character I don't have. Oh, life. :')
