Please quit making up silly, exaggerated excuses and just get your knee checked out already. I seriously doubt you need surgery on it, especially considering that you say a muscle-relaxing lotion helps it for a while; that's just paranoia. If you ignore it, it's going to get worse (and eventually it could get to the point where you may actually need surgery), considering it hasn't gotten better and you've had the pain for a few weeks now. Tell your mom and get it checked out as soon as possible... Seriously, we're worried about you. You complain about it a lot and we want you to feel better.
But... I do have to say, I don't understand how one of your excuses to not get it checked out is "but I may not be able to do marching band"
a.) Marching band is in June or July, correct? I think it's July. So I doubt if you get it checked out now they'll do something so serious that it'll STILL be messed up by then. A brace is probably all you'll need, and the knee should be healed by then. If you ignore it, the pain will probably be unbearable by then anyway (I personally think it's a joint problem or a muscle problem so yeah it probably won't be better if you keep walking on it normally), so you probably won't even
want to do marching band by then.
b.) You complain about marching band sometimes (about the physical work, the memorization, and all of that jazz), and I was told you sit out a lot... So how can you really be that worried about not being able to do it this year????? I don't...

I've had dandruff before too, and it sucks... I hope it goes away soon! If you can, try a dandruff-controlling shampoo; I don't think they're too expensive and you should be able to get them at most retail stores or barber shops.
