You preach love and tolerance for all! ...But the second someone accidentally misgenders you, you get salty about it, instead of accepting the apology. It's this kind of attitude that starts drama.

I'm not mad, I'm just saying you need to to do what you preach, instead of going around and being stubborn about everything. I do think that this site needs a reform, I ****ing love this site and hate seeing people argue like this.

I'd like very much for drama to go away and for people to change the community. If you want change, you have to start with yourself. From here on out, I'm gonna try to be a bit nicer. You can't expect people to change on a dime, it's not gonna happen instantaneously. It takes time and patience and universal effort for a community to change. But as I said, if you want change to happen, start with yourself and then gradually move towards your goal.


In the end what I'm saying is, that if you want people to be nice to you, you need to give them the same treatment. That doesn't just go for you or me, it goes for everyone.

I'm sorry if this adds fuel to fire, and I'm sorry to Windumup for bringing this back up.

I do want to see this site change, I really do.

I am really getting tired of how this site needs to have these discussions every few months, especially when it tends to revolve around the same few people or targets. This time around wasn't as bad on the side of harassment I'll give enough credit there.

I'm already done trying to talk to people. Posts are going to be deleted accordingly and suspensions handed out on severe cases. Talking doesn't work so action will be taken instead.

I'm going to catch flak for this, but it's highly questionable whether Windumup is actually serious about being trans. Therefore, in my eyes, he is a he.

I'm not sure these are things you want to be saying publicly.

I'm definately not okay with bringing up old drama for the sake of it or even to attack someone- it's gotten bad enough in the Skylanders board that it'll get your post removed for offtopic or flaming. Honestly, if you have to do that, it's because you're not trying to respect anyone to begin with, no matter the issue. If you're at a point you have to talk about that heated argument or the harassment is starting again, take it to PMs or report and step away.

People are going around posting spoilers? Give them an MM for it, give them a couple more chances, then give them a gnorc if they still haven't stopped.
People are getting too out of hand when dealing with a user that's pissing people off, PM them asking them to stop, then handle the user that's causing problems yourselves.
Harassment for no reason? Look into the situation, and if the harassment was completely uncalled for, gnorc them.
Even if we do have more mods now, and even though some things really are being enforced, it feels like bigger issues are being left alone sometimes. :/

I agree. However, as CAV said, mods will get called too strict. Our main goal is to keep the forum safe, but also make sure that people can exercise their freedoms here.

I'm gonna try and do everything that CAV said, as much as I can.

Not sure what I can say about this that hasn't been said already but I do want to bring this up:

A long while back, I talked with a friend of mine about this website and my experience with it, and one thing they asked was why I go on this website specifically, let alone stay on it for so long. My first initial response was that I enjoyed the community itself more so than other websites. Every other fansite I've been on I've either not been interested in long enough or I didn't feel very welcome on it. I noticed since I had this conversation that I also stay because I have a ton of common interests with people on here, and I enjoy debating on certain topics, whether it's a serious subject or not.

But what stood out to me was that one of my initial responses when I had this conversation was that "I liked how generally accepting the community is compared to other websites I've been on." And i specifically remember this conversation because of this specific statement. After I had this conversation with my friend, I noticed that there are more fights and arguments on here than I thought there were. i noticed a lot more how users typically liked to pile up on other users, whether it was civil or not and whether it was intentional or not(admittedly I have done this too before). So I typically asked myself the question since then: Why did I think it was generally accepting when drama happens a lot more often than it should?

And with topics like these existing every now and then, I think the reason I initially thought that is because this community does have the potential to be accepting. What I've noticed with topics like these is that people on this site are constantly trying to struggle between being a loving community and just jumping on anyone who doesn't agree with them. What I've noticed is that this site struggles a lot because the community here knows that they can be accepting, but generally it misses the mark because it's very easy to lose sight of that on the internet.

And I think that's why I love this site and speaking to the community so much. Because users on dS try their absolute hardest to be generally accepting. As I said before, sometimes I didn't exactly feel welcome on other websites. but this website actually put up with some of the over-the-top hyperactivity I spammed back when I joined almost 6 years ago. And that's what I enjoy about the site most, that people want to be nice and kind on here, even when drama brings problems on here.

This website has me coming back all the time because through topics like this, debating topics that stay civil, simple topics to talk about dumb stuff, and just the stupid stuff that gets posted on this board, I know that this website has been one of the nicest before, and it tries its hardest to be one of the nicest even when negativity starts to brew. It's why I've stayed for almost 6 years and it's why I plan to stay for a lot longer in the future.

Wow,that's right on point with some of my feelings, though it applies mostly to Off Topic than the rest. Well said.

If we have to keep bringing this up for months, then its obviously a problem thwt isn't getting fixed.
