I'm not sure if there's a topic already like this or not, I didn't see one in the first few pages (and I don't know how to search all of them)
But I thought it would be cool to have a place to talk about stuff like this if there isn't one already.
6 years ago I was 250lbs and fairly happy
1 year ago I was 102lbs and absolutely miserable
Today, as of 10 minutes ago, I am 120lbs. Happier and healthier than I've ever been. c:

Also I lost more than 10 pounds since the second to last time I weighed myself which is nice. I also worry about my weight much more than I should, because I know it's not an unhealthy weight, I just feel like it is. I'm 140 lbs. |

I'm mostly fine in terms of weight, but I have issues with muscle mass so much I lose my breath at things people in their 30s would scoff at and can't lift more than my parents who are well over 55s. Currently doing yoga classes and just switched from swimming(needless to say lungs and legs weren't taking it well) to hydrogymnastics, both senior classes in the places I go, but I don't mind and actually get a little surprised to see them stretch more and for longer than I can.

I've never realy taken notes of my weight or health to begin with, though I can say I'm going downhill. Last time I wend to the hospital I was a miserable 50 Kilo's in comparision to the 60 I had that year before. Honestly, it could be my bad eating habbits (As in, skipping dinnertime etc) or I'm simply just losing weight because that appearantly is a thing. I don't know.
I take better notes of my mental health, because I seriously have to. |

According to your profile birth date you would have been 12 years old weighing 250 pounds? In all seriousness, if you were 12 and weighed as much as you say, please explain to me how you were fairly happy. I'm a border line diabetic, I also have an eating disorder that can get out of control at times but I lose weight instead of gaining weight. I weigh 115 pounds and yes I am quite content with my weight right now. I don't per say exercise but I walk 3 - 6 miles a day. I speed walk for 15 minutes then just walk at a normal pace. |

When I got my statistics checked out at the doctor's last, the machine said I have 0% skeletal muscle mass. Which isn't true. I'd be dead. |

Because you can be overweight and still be happy. Those two aren't mutually exclusive. And I was fairly happy compared to a year ago when I had been struggling with an ED for awhile. |

Sure, this sounds like a good idea. As you probably already saw there is a fitness topic on Idle Chatter, but people rarely use it to discuss anything anyway.
As always, if anyone needs any advice I'm always willing to help. |

I'm somewhat fat, but I don't really mind that. I just try to avoid health issues to have a fine lifestyle. Aside from that, I just eat without minding.

I'm 69" (1.75 meters for you metric types) and when I graduated high school I was 210 lbs (95.25 kg). I dropped down to 175 lbs (79.38 kg) but I'm now at around 150 lbs (68.04 kg) due to disease. I'm fine with the weight, but this disease has wrecked my diet and made eating into a chore. The medicine doesn't seem to work the way I'd like it to either. <.<;

Health is obviously more important than the numbers, so that should be everyone's main focus.
But anyone that struggles with eating enough/right (for whatever reason), try juices and smoothies. You can easily pack a lot of nutrients into them and if you know what you're doing you can add whatever you're lacking. Fiber, protein, iron. You can make them in advance, and just about any flavor than you want. |

I've realized lately that I really really need to get back in shape. This is me when I was 25:
![]() This is me now: ![]() I've become a goddamn marshmallow! GAAAAAH! What's annoying is I could eat a tub of ice cream every weekend when I was in my early 20's and still lose weight as long as I exercised. But not anymore. Anyone here know of a way I can somehow neutralize my taste buds so ice cream stops tasting so good? I need to get started on some kind of fitness program but I don't know what can fit with my schedule. Maybe I should quit my job and get one that involves physical labor. But I've never done a physical job before and I have zero coordination, so I don't know if they'd hire me...

Aside from doing normal posture exercises, as Bumblebunnii suggested, you could also try to strengthen your upper and lower back. Your muscles naturally keep your posture up a bit, even when you're idle. Being stronger is also important for your spine and your joints because of the support they gain from your muscles. |
