There are 2 paths, one that leads you to certain death and one that leads you to great riches. 2 men guard the paths, one who says nothing but lies and one who always says the truth.
Using only ONE question, how do you figure out which path is which?

epic plan:

run towards one of the paths, if it's the riches one, pay off the guys so they dont have to stand there anymore, hopefully theyll get a good meal and return to their families. then run towards the other path so i can finally die.

if i end up going to the death one first, still good.

I'd ask them: "Which path do I want?"

The one telling the truth would admit he doesn't know because I didn't say what i wanted at the end.
The liar would pick a path for death, unable to admit he doesn't know and unable to pick the riches as a normal person would want it.

That could work as well Seiki but the answer is
"What path would the other guy suggest"

The liar will say the path that leads to death (because he is lying)
The truth teller will say the path that leads to death because he is telling the truth

Therefor you pick the path they didn't point to

I have to make a quick guess but it would be "If I went down this path will I find a satifying valuable reward? " now this may not work kinda depends on the truth teller and what he defines as valuable reward. Again these are quick stupid thoughts so may be flawed.
