Okay so overall thoughts so far not counting Kirby hype:
-Star Fox Guard looks like a neat tower defense game, I'll at least look into that. Star Fox Zero also looks great.(Side question: does this game only have the motion control gimmick as its only control scheme, or is there an option to play without motion control?)
-Tokyo Mirage Sessions FE looks interesting to say the least. It's still not the Shin Megami Tensei X Fire Emblem game that i was expecting but still.
-Lost Reavers looks like a neat Free-to-Play game, I'll be checking it out.
-I was excited for Paper Mario: Color Splash up until they basically confirmed that it's a Sticker Star sequel. Why they would want to continue Sticker Star's format after all its negativity is beyond me.
-I love that SNES virtual console is finally coming to 3DS. So glad I'll be able to play Earthbound, F-Zero, and A Link to the Past on the go now.
-I haven't played the original game, but Azure Striker Gunvolt 2 peaked my interest. I'll have to check out the first game.
-I'm so glad Hyrule Warriors Legends characters will be playable on the original Wii U game. Also Medli is a really interesting choice for a character but hey at least Wind Waker is getting a lot more love this time around. And I can play as Skull Kid so there's that.
-Metroid Prime: Federation Force looks like a decent game. But the core problem still isn't with the game, it's the fact that this is being advertised as the next mainstream Metroid game, let alone the first one since Other M(And obviously people hated that one so people have really been waiting since Prime 3 for a new game). For a franchise that has become so under-appreciated in recent years, this is not the type of comeback that it should be having. I would be perfectly fine with a Metroid spinoff like this. I'm not okay with the fact that a spinoff title of such low caliber is supposed to be the game that brings back a beloved franchise like this one.
-JK TALKING ABOUT KIRBY HYPE: While the game I wanted to see was a sidescroller on the Wii U, a new sidescroller in the series in general is more than enough for me, and this has me extremely excited. I love the new mech abilities that can be used now(my mind immediately went to Gurren Lagann when I saw that.
), and the amiibo compatibility is cool. the new minigame in this title also looks pretty cool. And it makes me so happy that Kirby is getting his own amiibo line. Granted, it might only be those 4 figures and nothing else, but it makes me very happy that Nintendo would decide out of all the franchises it has that it should make an amiibo line for, Kirby is one of them. Of course I'll be getting every single one of those amiibo(another side question: did they say the release dates for this amiibo line?). Still a little upset that F-Zero didn't get any love again, but at least my favorite Nintendo franchise and one of my favorite franchises in general is getting loved again.
Otherwise I was pretty indifferent to the games shown off(I immediately jumped to Rhythm Thief when Rhythm Heaven was about to be announced and then my dreams were quickly shattered.
)This direct was really freaking good overall.
