The other thing that happens is they won't have the new item for the cheaper price and they won't lower down the used one at all. Tried that before many times at Gamestop.

I think it is because they run sales on Used items frequently, like the B2G3 free. And they hope to catch some people unaware.

I rarely see used vehicles at GameStop.
They just have more new than they do used and they adjust the price accordingly, independent of one another.

Also, as mentioned, they perpetually run B2G3 Free on the used figures, which drops this down to $6/figure (if you buy 5, But before any potential PUR discount). If they ran the used ones at $10/each, the B2G3 price would be less than $4/each (before PUR).

Don't forget about that whole Xenoblade fiasco a while back when they got new copies and gutted (opened) them to sell them as used.

I saw a trap in CEX preowned yesterday for £7.99. That's equal to US $11.40.

LOL, I remember when my store had the Skylanders Battlegrounds Gamestop pack with Royal Double Trouble for $9.99 new on clearance, and in the pre-owned section there was a bagged/used Royal Double Trouble for like $24.99.

They are selling the Wii console for $50 while selling a Wii game for $100. That's messed up.

The game is hard to find, the system is everywhere. I *really* don't see the issue.

I can buy a used NES for $30 (or less), but some NES games cost hundreds of dollars (or more). It's perfectly logical.

I think it was actually $39.99 for pre-owned RDT when the battlegrounds pack first went on clearance. They later adjusted the price to $24.99, which is still the highest pre-owned skylander price.

Am I not the only one that doesn't have problems with new and preowned prices?

Green bases are always $3
Oranges are always $4
Blues are always $6
Reds are always $8
Infinity 1.0's are $8
Infinity 2.0's are $10
Power discs are $1

Always that price regardless if it's rare or not. I have like Ghost Roaster, Nitro Magna Charge, and Red Drill Sergeant from my local EB. There's other stuff too but I can't remember their regular prices.

I see. Gamestop's prices are all different, I wonder why. Do they really put the time in to match with competitors on Amazon and EBay?

At US GameStops, the prices are not solely based on which game, there's a bit of rarity factored in.

Gamestop is currently on my crap list. I ordered Power Blues online with them back on Skylanders Day since my nearest store had sold out. They sent me TWO Splats and NO Trigger Happys. Called to have it fixed and they keep sending more Splats, I have FOUR of them now and am on the phone waiting on hold for the third time.

Did you change jobs? Because that is exactly what they are doing. They also told me they wouldn't schedule pickup and I don't have a nearby UPS store so they told me to keep them. I'm not going out of my way after their repeated mess ups. So I have a Power Blue Splat army. Trigger Happy is supposedly being overnighted to me now, so I'll probably have a fifth Splat tomorrow.

I once had a credit card where they credited me a $35 late fee because my online payment didn't go through correctly.

I then wrote them to thank them - and they replied, apologizing and issued me another $35 credit for my inconvenience.

I then called and tried to explain that they accidentally issued me a second credit I didn't deserve. They escalated my information and soon I had an email apologizing and stating they had credited my account again.

I called a different number I found for "executive" customer service and explained the two extra credits. Again, they took my info and later, I got another email with another $35 credit.

$105 later, I gave up. I was afraid any future attempts would just get me more credits.

Speaking of companies that insist on screwing up, years ago I had Time Warner cable and I did not have a set top box. I did not get HBO, but then I noticed it came in on the channel. I actually wanted it so called them to sign up and add it to my account. The person on the phone told me "if you do not have the set top box, you cannot get HBO". I turned on my TV and turned it to HBO while still on the phone, and then asked her "So you are saying that if I do not have the box there is no way I can add HBO on to my account or get it on my TV?". She said "Yes, that is correct". I responded "Thank you very much" then hung up and enjoyed HBO for over a year afterwards.
