LEAKED ACTIVISION DOCUMENT AHEAD, SPOILER WARNING:

New Skylanders Ideas
  • not spyro (actually anything but)
  • fart joke skylander (fart jokes are FUNNY and make sure the youth know that)
  • one named "cash grab" and he grabs a guy and takes his cash (4 recolors, one for each financial quarter)
  • contact 4chan mods, make that meme frog a skylander no matter how much it costs (the youth loves "memes")
  • hire disney to make a really cool and really original skylander, make sure there's low stock to drive up the price
  • actually, dont get disney, make it look original but hire some kid to put his or her OC in, then make low stock
  • donald trump needs a plug somehow
  • chocolate skylander, eats chocolate then burps a lot (burp jokes are funny too)
  • find another classic gaming character, buy them, put them in one game and make low stock, never use him again (crash would be good)

remember, next gimmick is "Skylanders: The NeXt Generation" (make the "x" cool on the box and also big), and it takes place after all the other skylanders are dead so the youth have to buy all new ones

ELI5:

Eggcited Thrillipede is a variant Skylander, so it's a different color scheme in figure and in game. Usually these holiday palette swaps have some funny backstory like being painted this way by accident or turned into colorful abominations by spells. It's not required for anything though,so it's less cash grab and more collector bait.
In fact,you don't need to get ANY of this game's guys. You could get a Spyro for half a dollar on Gamestop and it'd make as much of a difference,as long as you have the cars or a portal to get a free digital car that looks like cheese. Actually,screw that,you only need the portal to complete the game's story because they also give you a digital legless dragon that looks like cheese.

Thrillipede actually looks like this and though I don't like it myself, it's better than this horrifying thing. Yes, he's an anthro milipede. Get used to furries in Skylanders cuz there's no shortage.
