Okay, I'm seriously done. It's bad enough that stupid people like trolls are throwing "autism" around like an insult, but the fact that an actual organization is using this is just disgusting. And as a guy with Asperger's, this is personally insulting to me.

Every time someone tries to talk me into stopping eating something mostly healthy because of a 0,004% chance of something bad, I remind them breathing can cause cancer if you link a bunch of minimal-chance percentages just like that one.

But seriously that's clickbaiting so hard they could have a big red shiny button on the side.

Yeah, I'm well aware of Peta's infamy and really stupid methods of getting their message across. And not only do they do petty stuff like whine about animal deaths in video games and make stupid over-the-top propaganda, they actively go against what they're supposedly supporting. In 2011, their headquarters euthanized 95% of the nearly two thousand animals they were looking after (for context, most animal shelters only do that to 35%). I know it eventually reaches a point where there's so many that they can't be taken care of and sadly, euthanasia is necessary for some, but still.

And I'm not really too offended by that autism thing, if anything, it's more that I feel bad for those out there who are genuinely offended. I love animals and all, and I'm definitely all for preventing animal abuse, but if this is the way Peta is going to go about it, I'd sooner go to KFC than support them.

But seriously now, PETA is just the worst... I'm all for preventing animal abuse, but the actions they take are just absurd. They could use their money to actually help prevent animal abuse, but instead they waste it on making cheap "satire" games and commercials that compare domestic abuse and rape to cooking a fish...

Well they're not alone, some fliers in uni were also comparing riding horses and using farm animals for,well,farming to rape(and with a big slogan of 'who do you think you are to ride me like that?' because that's going to convince EVERYONE). There's a reason TV Tropes calls people like them Animal Wrongs groups.

Really? Riding horses = rape now? Jeez. Yeah, Animal Wrongs Groups sounds right.

PETA has made a career out of making ridiculous controversial claims based on relevant things in order to gain attention, clicks, and therefore profit for their cause (which is a horrifying cause if you aren't aware of it). This sort of reaction is what they want especially if it leads people to go to their website to read their claims (even if it's just to laugh at it).

Honestly I'm not surprised, but I am feeling a little something....

It's like a "Oh, really now, Peta? Alrighty then." feeling.

I'm not offended regardless of the fact that I "have" Aspergers/autism (dont really know the difference/simliarities between the two but I don't care.), but whatever.

Well, there's all those arguments about how you could take (most of) meat out of your diet and have beneficial effects. It's still not how you convince someone - trying to pull slippery slope or copying the good old 'YOU WOULDN'T STEAL A CAR,SO WHY DO YOU PIRATE MOVIES' attempts will just make people laugh at you.

Of course,clickbaiting gets them more ad money than being reasonable.

Does PETA seriously believe it can intimidate and make people who have autism like myself look bad? That's just pathetic. Speaking from past experience as a child, I've had enough of that to last me a lifetime.
