No, it isn't.


The Sun is not "on fire" in the way that we perceive fire. What we see are extremely hot clouds and streams of hydrogen and helium. Fire, as we know it, cannot exist in space because of the vacuum and a lack of oxygen.

The sun is actually made out of plasma. While flames can be hot enough to create plasma, saying that the sun is "on fire" in the traditional sense is false.

however the surface of the sun isn't "the vacuum of space" and approximately 1% of the sun's mass is oxygen
