Sorta funny story, maybe.

My wife and I have played Skylanders together since the first one on Wii.
One of the traditions we have is to always get all female characters since she prefers to play as them.

Well with Swap Force, by the time we got around to getting Scratch, she wasn't in any stores around here. So I ended up buying her used for $5, making her the first "rescue" we ever got.
With Trap Team, Echo seemed to be the same, impossible to find new. I've been going to used stores for months when we're out, digging through their heaps of used figures hoping to get her. Never had any luck, never even saw a badly damaged one.

So this morning, at 1am, she decides she wants to go shopping for clearance holiday items (we're night owls anyway).
While driving to random Wal-Marts I mention that an unexpected Christmas bonus should be coming soon from work, and that I've caved and was going to get one of those eBay Echos.

Walk into Wal-Mart, grab some holiday stuff that's cheap, head to electronics as always just to browse.
BAM Echo in the clearance section! Full price, not clearance, but I didn't care. Grabbed her right up.

Also got some clearance Skylander wrapping paper for when I gift figures to my nephews. Good run.

Congrats! Walmart can be random like that. Mine put out a case of first wave Trap Masters including a hard to get Wallop right after Christmas. But it is always killer when they put out a case of something rarer. I remember them putting out Ghost Roaster sets at retail during Swap Force's release years ago. So I always check what they got just in case.

Despite my awful selection of Skylanders at local Walmarts, I spotted a Wallop a few months back. I'm not giving Walmart any credit for "finds" such as these. It's probably old stock that had been sitting around in the back of store that hadn't been put out by employees purely due to neglect and apathy.

I've seen Echo on multiple occasions.
I have never seen Blackout nor Spotlight, nor have I ever seen Wham-Shell new. When GameStop started their used NFC figure program back up again, however, I saw him used all the time. By that time I had already gotten him with the Giants carrying case thing at TRU.

Found a brand new Wham-Shell at TJ Maxx on release day for Superchargers, also got a Quick Draw Rattleshake too. The Wham-Shell was the original not the light core by the way. I think it was $8 for both

TJ Maxx sells Skylanders???

TJ Maxx and Marshalls sell Skylanders as long as it is not the home goods version. Had to look through the toy area but found quite a few skylanders and they were cheap on top of it. Walgreens, Big Lots, 5 Below and sometimes big grocery chains too (Kroger where I amight at) all sell skylanders too

Thanks. And yeah Walmart is random. I once got a clearance Kickoff Countdown there for $5 because the packaging was messed up, but now at the same Walmart they have a Whirldwind with Ignitor's packaging, and I think a LC Whamshell with Boom Jet's packaging at full price.

I agree, it's probably something that just never got put on shelves before. Not complaining this time though!

Mine has very few. A few Chills, Fright Riders, a Slam Bam in an opened box with no plastic inside, a Scorp with no box at all and a sticker on his tail and a Giants 3 pack with the golden dragonfire cannon. I bought that today because i still needed that cannon.

Oh wow, I didn't know that TJ Maxx and Marshalls sold Skylanders. I have never seen them at Big Lots either. I'm in southwest Florida, if that matters. I may have to check the next time I go into one of those stores.

I do know Five Below is a great place to get old core characters you may have missed out on. Mine is selling Swap Force cores as of the last time I visited. They always shift the selection whenever a new game comes out, so I assume they'll start selling Trap Team cores when Sky6 is released.
