My awesome dad said i'm skipping school today and we are gonna see The Force Awakens...

Gah, I've already seen TWO major spoilers. Thanks, random news sites that don't care about putting spoilers in their article titles.

I'll attempt watching today as well, will edit this with mine as well if the theater doesn't get full before we buy the tickets. At least it SHOULDN'T be, because apparently my city hates reading so everyone's going to watch the horrid brazilian-portuguese dub instead of subs so that room's pretty empty.

It's really good, it definately had hard on its mind what to take from the old ones and what to improve, and even someone like me who didn't invest a second on extra lore could get into it. My only real complaint is Kylo Ren sounds way too deep and it kinda broke all the air of threat when the guy sounds like he's always out of air. I was also annoyed by the lack of Poe but hey we have two more movies.

Phasma was bearly in the movie. Kylo Ren is a whiny brat who has temper tantroms. Really, no joke. Still a great movie

We had Darth Maul, Plagueis, Vader and now Hissyfit. Seems right.

Rey was cool,but she was too okay for my taste since everyone else is cooler. Finn was a pleasant surprise since I didn't even know they'd use a character like that so I didn't pay much attention to her.

I personally almost walked out of the theater towards the end. I personally think it's one of the worst ones. Which sucks cause the first half of it I was totally loving. Then everything changed, when the third death star attacked. (Yes, that's an avatar reference) (and yes, I know it's not called a death star, but it's the exact same thing and finale as episode 4 and 6 with the death stars, so it's death star 3.0)

I'm probably the only one that liked the things being repeated because it's not like they just reuse the scenes for the sake of it,a lot is done better in my opinion. Then again, I'm a casul that watched the movies like 6 years ago in one sitting and probably should hate the parallels more, but I don't, I had more fun with this one than the prequels and a big part of the originals.

i cringe at anybody who says this is worse than the prequels

ESB > ANH > TFA > ROTS = ROTJ > AOTC > TPM

it was definitely better than the prequels and in my opinion return of the jedi

i don't see why people are complaining about the parallels between VII and IV/VI; the parallelism is fine, because it functions as both a reference and helps understand what they're going for with the plot device.

there's a whole lot of fanservice with things like the bad cgi board game in the millennium falcon, the helmet that luke trained with, etc. but the movie wasn't really weighed down by it or centered around it so i don't see the problems there.

I definately liked the subtle story related fanservice a lot more than what people think of nowadays (like using phrases or throwing plot out of the window as long as the cool speculated fight/conversation happens in the franchise) ;it's still a nod to the fans when underused. Of course,it might've happened a tad bit too much,but being the first film of the new triology playing too safe is expected.

I think it's time I watch the prequels to see what the talk's about
