I believe the first topic I ever posted in S&N was on this subject.
After much consideration, I've decided to bring this issue up again.

What do you call your, .. things?
I looked it up, and the correct term for these are:

Earbuds. Apple's are called "EarPods" but they're the same/similar style.
If that's what they're called, then I have to say Earbuds are the only style I like. I've never been able to use the "Earphones"

These:

Earphones. I grimace when I hear it.
I hate those things, but it seems somehow everyone uses them?.. How? I have to cram them into my ear for them to work, and their sound quality is almost always worse than "Earbuds".
Yet somehow most people use this style? I don't get it man, how do awkwardly shaped ovals fit into your ear instead of ear-shaped earbuds?
I need instructions to use these.
Not that I use instructions anyways, but you know what I mean.

Don't even get me started on Headphones...

Honestly, I still don't know the correct terms for either of these styles.

intra-aural and extra-aural headphones is the correct terminology

i've always used intra-aural because they sound better due to being in your ear, people around you are less likely to hear them, and they're less likely to fall out while exercising or just moving about in general.

earphones can't fit in my ears damn it
I had these Koss dildo shaped ear phones and for some reason they would never stick and would just fatter the yellow stuff in your ear it's so gross.

I stick with headphones now.

Earphones. Earbuds just feel strange against my ears, but I may just be putting them on the wrong way.

Headphones are the worst.
Earbuds always fall out.
Earphones are more uncomfortable but don't fall out as easy.

I could not care less. Headphones, earphones, and earbuds all serve the same purpose: transferring a sound to the inside of your head.

I think I'm the only person that can't seem to fit those "earbuds/earphones" in my ears.

Usually I just use the first word that comes to mind when I think of earbuds, but I've noticed that I call earphones 'earplugs' out of habit. Think I might've caught that one off my parents. ;;

As for actually using them - I use headphones at my computer but whenever I'm listening to music out and about I use earphones. I personally find earbuds uncomfortable and they don't fit my ear properly - they always end up falling out the second I even think about moving my head or walking. Meanwhile, I find earphones comfortable, easy to actually keep in my ear, more audible and if you happen to find a good pair they cancel out some surrounding noise, which I find great. c:

They're earbuds, ones that go over the ear are headphones.

I don't use ear phones nor ear buds, I only use my headphones.

I always use earbuds; while they are a little more uncomfortable when they're in my ears for too long, they never fall out and the output quality is pretty good.

Earphones in the other hand I've never liked because they never stay in my ears and I feel the need to jam them in my ear to make them stay but they still fall out. Plus the sound quality isn't that good most of the time.

I'd like to use headphones, but my hair is long enough to cover my ears so they can be a hassle to wear without them slipping off.

earphones because the bass can reach the eardrum and deliver a nice effect
you need to get good ones, also I always called them earbuds

I honestly hate whenever I wear wired earbuds and accidentally yank the cord and the tips just rip out of my earlobes.

I personally like to use headphones with added earhooks. Earphones and earbuds are just way too invasive and get covered in ear wax way too fast to be practical and all that. Of course I only use headphones with earhooks on them when I’m outside. In home I use good quality wireless headphones.
