I can't say I have any real predictions, but I hear Geno's costume is confirmed. No characters have been leaked yet, which in a way is kind of cool so the surprise won't be ruined. I don't think I need to say who I'm hoping for, but I am not getting my hopes up.

Personally I REALLY want Inklings, Snake, or Skull Kid. I know those last two are pretty big longshots, but still, I'd enjoy them.

I just want Resetti.

My choices would be Wolf, Isaac, and K. Rool, since that would be a good ending for the DLC in my opinion. One returning character and two new characters that have been highly requested, one of them being from a Nintendo series that hasn't had a character in Smash yet (Golden Sun).

I'd prefer a Tales character over K. Rool, but I don't think that would happen.

Expectations
-Cloud to be released after the direct (basically confirmed already due to data-mining done on the maintenance update, his files are there). We also know Sakurai is detailing his moveset, like with Ryu and many of the newcomers in the first Smash Direct.
-Wolf, Inklings, Banjo-Kazooie, Shovel Knight, and Professor Layton (somewhat) and Rayman (somewhat) are among the characters I have the most reason to believe would make it in
-More Melee/64 stages
-New stages to go with each new character (except maybe Wolf but they could give him a Star Fox: Zero level)
-New Amiibos to be shown of characters up to Cloud. Possibly announcing more Amiibos based on alt characters like the Koopalings and Alph.
-Some sort of Iwata reference if not a flat out tribute/memorial segment (he was close friends with Sakurai and has played a pivotal role in each Smash game's conception and development, so he's important to Sakurai and the series specifically)
-Some sort of "look how far we've come" segment

Fairly Reasonable Hopes
-I voted for Captain Toad, Rayman, Professor Layton, and Sora. I'm hoping for at least one of these characters to make it in.
-A new mode, specifically something single-player/co-op related. A Boss Rush mode seems reasonable to me, since they have enough boss characters in the game to work with, and they wouldn't have to create new assets really, just re-program the bosses a little to have more varied and challenging attack patterns. They can even re-use the All-Star rest area like Brawl did.
-Fixing Tournament Mode, it needs some work done on it
-New Stage Builder tools/parts
-Custom moves for the DLC characters, both ones already out and future ones

Pipe Dreams
-Melee-esque Adventure Mode except actually entirely good and mostly comprised of actual platforming levels with boss characters being used at the end of stages
-All remaining stages from Smash 64 ported into both versions
-Amiibos now work online as well as some kind of new functionality
-A "custom move pack", gives you one more custom special in each category for each character
-Every co-op mode given online play, as well as Smash Run and Smash Tour
-A non-video game character makes it into the game (anyone will do, just for the reactions and salt from the obsessive speculators, though I actually legitimately think Mickey Mouse would fit into Smash Bros, but that's just me)

The direct is 33 minutes long.

The Ryu one was 18 minutes.

I just wanna know who won the ballot...for the sake of everything Smash.

You aren't alone. I just find him uninteresting personally, then feel like only a handful of people legitimately want him in then started a hype train to make people who don't really know him to want him.

Still hoping for Shantae and Quote. Though honestly I'd like to see Cave Story and Shantae get ANY representation, even if it's as simple as a trophy.

Realistically expecting Wolf, K. Rool, and Inklings. As for stages, the only ones that I definitely want to see again are New Pork City and Green Greens.

And if we're on the subject of characters we don't want to see, then I honestly don't want to see Shovel Knight in the game at all.

Thats why it's highly unlikely. Konami pretty much screwed themselves sideways this year. What sucks is that they're sitting on tons of IPs. :C

How did they not choose Wolf? He was in the Top 5 in America, so why not? I've been expecting K. Rool to be disregarded for a little bit now, but I seriously cannot understand why they went for the new FE guy over a semi-clone veteran character that is at least in 5th place.
