Quote: CelesteInkI really think digitals should exist for every character, it would be great for those of us who can't find a Blackout anywhere, and don't want to spend $30 on Ebay or Amazon. There's a handful of characters that I am convinced I'll never own, unless I get lucky like I did with Ghost Roaster.
You had an idea for a Free to Play Skylanders too? I've been thinking for a while how nice that would be, as long as it ahd online PVP and leaderboards.
$30 Blackout? Cheapest I typically find is $60-70 range ( Spotlight near $100 )...
And yeah, I thought up an idea where they do a full Skylanders game but as a free to play model with the microtransactions being the Instant digital versions of the characters. Those of us with the toys and a portal could scan our collections to unlock them ( including variants & magic items, which wouldn't be available w/o the toys. Bowser & DK would remain Nintendo only obviously. ). Adventure items would unlock new stages that could also be bought digitally as well. Once in a while the game could be updated with new levels and Skylanders. Hadn't put any thought into PvP or leaderboards though, since I have no interest in that stuff, but that is something that would fit well into the game design.
In addition, all gimmicklanders would have functionality in the levels. as you explore you could find element gates, dual element gates, feats of strength, Supercharger gates, vehicle gates, Traptanium gates & crystals, Giant chests, heavy objects for Giants to lift, Swap Zones ( though IMO they should be more puzzle based rather than mostly bad minigames )...if they can make traps & villains work like Trap Team ( maybe even with NEW villains ) they could include Villain Caches too.
