If you want to play the Nightmare train and Blades buy it. It's a good deal for Stormblade.

I've already done that. Next thing I'm trying to do is get them all to 65000 gold (or whatever them max was in SF, if they are compatible with SF. Which reminds me, what is the gold cap in SC? Is it 65000, or more?)

I remember noticing this sometime ago. So, what we can expect from this?

If they need someone that can code more things into the game's engine,they might be learning their lesson from TT or want to top SC. It's not a new UI or art style,it's something they can use for that.

Here's the list of what jobs they're hiring. Most of then temporary.

The Senior Character Modeler needs quality an efficiency when working under tight deadlines. This means that they are making something to give a more polished game (at least in this aspect) in the time they make the game. Maybe it can work the same way for other jobs

However,the Animator job definately shows they're taking cues from SC. Seems like they'll attempt motion capture at least on a basic level,but they could've been doing that since forever.

The fact we are a year away from the next release and they have this kind of staffing need is kinda concerning actually.

Interesting that Maya is used to create assets...and then they pull them into their platform. I'd love to code gaming logic, I suck at the artistic side.

Anyway, I just spotted in my local Toys R Us Splat, BB Pop Fizz, LL Eruptor, and single H Jet Vac. No new vehicles, probably because they were overloaded with Sky Slicer, Crypt Crusher, Dive Bomber, and Sea Shadow. Just thought I'd let you know.

What format does it produce for these things, and how does the gaming platform pick it up? It's obviously a 3d model of some sort...kinda ignorant of it all and interested.

Of special note is that most of these jobs are TEMPORARY. I'll say it again....a MULTI BILLION FRANCHISE needs TEMPORARY help? Maybe they're short changed....dunno. Just strikes me at ODD. I'd want the people working on this franchise to be ALL IN. Then again, maybe they're shifting and making big changes and wanted staff to accommodate it....it could go either way.

Wish I could help with that :I my biggest reference is I-Wei talking about this actually, since he said in some interviews he uses the models from Maya for both 3D printing figures and the ingame stuff.


Temporary jobs aren't that odd as long as it's just QA and the odd artist, but programmers feels like there was a downsizing as we weren't told, unless they're trying to eat more than they can chew again e_e

I think either Crash Bandicoot or Sonic the Hedgehog could be a part of Skylanders. The Legend of Zelda though, I don't see it happening because it has human characters.

Zelda can have the enemies. A Stalfos or Poe Amiibolander would be so awesome *w*

Still, isn't it odd how she was given the most human-like design out of every single Skylander?
She really kind of stands out because of it.
And even with the eyes, I bet if you ask anyone who's never payed attention to Skylanders what Chill's species is and showed a picture of her, I'd bet you anything they'd all say "human".

Well, Skylanders games do sell the best on Nintendo consoles IIRC, and Zelda is one of Nintendo's biggest franchises next to Mario...
Plus with the new game and HD remake of Twilight Princess coming out next year...
I'd say Zelda Skymiibos are probably gonna be a safe bet.

And I'm kind of on the "Crash 4 Skylands" boat, if not just because I want Activision to actually do something with him.

Elves are usually ridiculously human elsewhere, not many games go for fairies or green-skinned guys like this one. Resemble doesn't mean MUST BE SAME SPECIES,don't pull a VV.

I have a co-worker with me in IT that used to work QA for a game software company, and one of my other friends told me that gaming programming jobs are a grind...hardly romantic. That's a shame...to me it's moving art. I would want there to be a sense of pride and ownership.

If they want a Zelda character for next year, I think the best candidate would probably be Midna. Almost everybody loves her, she'll have even more popularity from Twilight Princess HD's release, and she's not overly human, either (well, not in her imp form, at least).

...Okay, to be honest I mostly just want more Midna figurines. :P

Still, I think she'd make an interesting Dark element Skylander.

Midna is suuuper not appropriate for the game on either form,though. It worked in her own series somehow,but the,uh,design would definately be a no-no for TFB and VV.

My headcanon is that Chill is basically the equivalent of an Amazonian in Skylands.

As for Zelda, I sooner see Skylanders in Smash before Zelda characters manage to be in Skylanders.

I still think Fox and Kirby are the best candidates for future Skymiibos. Fox could be Tech element and Kirby could be Air element.

I would love to see Pit or Dark Pit as Skymiibos. They fit perfect in the light element.
