Actually it is an actual weapon, proper term is "pistol crossbow" which I am pretty sure is capable of being dual wield of it's light enough.

although at the same time it annoys me how she doesn't have a sword and shield and talks. because of this she seems more like a relative to link rather than a rule 63.

I would expect some of this from SEGA because Sonic Boom as a game series isn't going anywhere.

Nintendo wasn't really pushing this juuust to sell the 3DS version though, Linkle was in Hyrule Warriors concept art for quite some time iirc, so planned DLC most likely.

What stupid part of the fandom? Most people have wanted a female Link for years. Link is literally named as such because he is supposed to be "the link between the player and the game world", the player's avatar that they project themselves onto. However, that kinda falls flat for a lot of girls, since Link is definitely male. Really, they should have had a female Link as early as the first game (or at the very least, a sort of role reversal option for Link and Zelda). It's about time we got one.

If you're talking about about people who would want a female Link for sex appeal, there is nothing necessarily wrong with that either, different strokes for different folks. And besides, Link has always been one of the "hottest guys in gaming" as is anyway to most girls and gays, and I don't think a female Link will ever overshadow him at this stage in that regard.

Also I don't get the jab at Sonic Boom. The mobile game of it is doing fine, Fire & Ice is looking pretty good, and the Sonic Boom games aren't really reflective of Sonic Team and Iizuka's desires. Plus, we've already had two "Ms. Male Character" trope fillers in Sonic, going back to the Classic, "BUH BLUH WHHEN SANIC WAS ACTULLY GUD!!!!" days:
