Me, a friend of mine, and my girlfriend were mugged. It was about midnight and I was suddenly grabbed in the neck and he dropped me on the floor, unable to move because the man was holding me on the floor.
My friend was punched in the face by the second robber and then kicked in the stomach as he also dropped on the floor almost fainting.
My girlfriend was kicked in the knee, but nothing else. She inmediately gave her mobile phone to the man grabbing me, but he insisted on mine. I was trying to make him let me go so I could give him mine, but he just wouldn't. Thankfully he didn't grab me in the correct part of the neck where he could have cut my breath, but the stupid idiot finally pickpocketed my phone, threw me, and both the bastards left the scene.

So there you have it, in a minute of time me and my girlfriend's phone's were stolen. They didn't grab my friend's phone luckily, probably because they were only interested in getting rid of him and stealing ours since they needed to mug fast before anyone could notice.
What I find worse is that some person who did see it didn't do anything, we asked him for a phone to call the police but he didn't give it to us. Of course, why would he want to get into any trouble by helping strangers...

With a sore neck and a friend with his stomach hurt, we went to the nearest bar and we called our parents and the cops. We had to be taken to the hospital to make sure we weren't severely hurt, specially my friend, even though we thought we were fine.

Just this morning we went to the police station to file in the report, but it's honestly best to consider our phones long gone. We mainly did it to file in the underage violence in the scene of the crime, because these two thiefs looked like they were in their 40s. They even mentioned taking out their weapons at some point of the crime, my girlfriend says.

Last night we were empty inside after the incident. We're better now, but I still feel like trash.
I'm fine, and that's all that matters. But I am a phone enthusiast and losing my precious Nexus 5, which took me so much effort to get, like that really makes me sad.
But I think what makes me even sadder is the fact that my girlfriend had to give her phone to them voluntarily so they wouldn't murder me. I know it was the correct thing for her to do, but she did have to save up quite a long time for it because her family isn't exactly the wealthiest in the world, so it's unavoidable to feel a little bad for it...


I wanted to share this as a lesson to anyone reading this. I was pretty unlucky to get mugged, but it can happen to anyone, wether it be in the safest place on earth or in the slums. I want you to take my word onthat you never really know what it's like to be mugged until you are, because you're only told what it's like. Whenever you're outside at night, alone or with your friends, always keep an eye out, specially in empty areas where everybody's gone to bed. If you do, you can avoid happening to you what happened to me. We're not told to be careful for nothing, and it could happen to you if you're not. So please, be careful out there or you'll soon regret it. It's a cold world out there.

Is there no way to track either phone's location through the carrier? Hope may not be completely lost there.

About the phones, did you try to remotely reset them with ADM?

About the phones, did you try to remotely reset them with ADM?

I tried, but the phone was turned off, the normal thing a mugger would do. So all I did was unsync my account from that phone. Although in the state of things, unless they know my pattern, they won't be able to access my files even on a PC. So all they can do is get in the recovery and wipe the device clean and make it usable, but then my files would be long gone so I guess I'm not worried.

As for my girlfriend, she states she has used a Sony service to "block" the device which will also send them an email of the location of the phone should it be turned on (plus, Sony bootloaders are locked. These muggers won't be able to wipe her device to avoid it)


Although it's most probable they won't turn on the devices, so we just gave in the IMEIs of our respective devices in our report to the police just in case they find them.

To be honest though...he would've said that he had other injuries if he was slammed down onto the sidewalk, and who knows where DummyZ was.
