Steel plated Smash Hit was a bad omen. I think all of the variants this year look lazy. I may just as well throw away my SPSH and just say no to the variants as well (and save a cool $250+)/

Even if it's fake, it's probably very accurate. Just imangine a red Dive-Clops and probably a little white paint here and there and you have a Holiday special. It's not like the Halloween Feista is any different other than his colour, right?

Let me make one thing clear: I don't [insert word here] care what you think. Believe me or don't. I saw this artwork on a computer at a GameStop store with my own eyes but I didn't take a picture myself because it is usually not allowed and I respect that. And I preordered it.

The Nitro Spitfire you are talking about is a whole different thing. I didn't post it myself so I didn't have the chance to check it. I found dozens of packshots and leaks in general and the only mistake ever was this Nitro Spitfire and it was removed just a few hours after posting it. But if you are happy always finding the fault in something, so be it. Missile-Tow Dive-Clops is real and the artwork is real as well no matter if you want to be nitpicky or not.

And by the way, we had that confirmation from several leaks and the hacking of the game files.

Dark prevails again, nice find! Don't think I'll be getting this variant though. Not that the colors are ugly, but characters other than Dive Clops had so much potential. What about a candy cane Splat (Red/Green clothes holding a candy cane paintbrush?) or perhaps Smash Hit with an ornament-colored boulder?

If the artwork is any indicator, the red parts might be pearlized or shiny with a green reflection.

Hmm, I'll wait for some in-hand pics and screenshots, then I'll decide if I'm going to get him or not. I haven't upgraded my regular Dive-Clops yet, so I'm not sure if it's worth buying him again.

Just skip it, trust me - it feels great to not worry about collecting figures that are exactly the same as what you already have. So much less to care about. I've collected variants (not chase) prior to this year and it is just so much easier to not worry about those. The only one I have gotten is Legendary Jet Vac, but I thought he looked really cool. Your collection won't feel any less complete once you get used to it.

I didn't do trap collecting last year (one of each element, except a few extra simply because of relevant deals). With the Yawn Trap situation, it appears that was a very good decision. If we get to the end of this year and Skylanders drop off as they appear to be doing, there is a chance some stores won't stock later variants (like the blue ones). Stores were stuck with lots of traps (mostly water) that wouldn't sell, so there was no retailer demand for the trap assortment that had the Yawn Traps.

I prefer picking up all of the variants, but only when I can. Like, I continue my collection and I only get the variants when I get the opportunity.

That would be awesome! It'd definitely capture the Christmasy theme for sure.

Looking at this, I loved Dive-Clops' figure, but a red version would completely take the cake for me.

Went to my local Game Stop today to get info on the Missietoe Dive Clops and they had nothing in the system...

Will just have to wait and see!!

I'm wondering when Missile Tow will be available to buy. When did come out?

I believe Jolly Bumble Blast came out on December 9th, while Winterfest Lob Star released on December 7th the following year, so this variant wil probably be released on the first week or two of December, right before wave 3 as usual.

Just heard from my usual EB Games' manager that Missile Tow isn't expected to be out here until well after Christmas. Kind of defeats the purpose of a Yuletide variant, but I don't mind waiting a little longer.

Release date in Australia is December 10
