Since Flight Rising feels the need to be exclusive, despite being over 2 years old according to Wikipedia. I've been looking through a couple, and the ones I've seen either don't look very good from what I can gather from their website (kawaiipetsu.com) are seem to be dead (wolfplaygame.com) or both (fezkitt.com)


Yeah, I know about neopets.com but... As much as I love that game and it's lore, my account(s) on there is dead for a reason.

The only ones I could find that don't seem to be completely dead are mycenacave.com and beastkeeper.com

At work we've been advertising Moshi Monsters. I am honestly not sure what to think of that one...

Howrse.com if you like horses. They took away the goal system though, which makes it boring sometimes.
Uh...Waja's if you like Wolves.

There isn't much out there though.

There's Dragon Cave, an adoptables game where you steal dragon eggs and raise them by getting people to look at them.

There's one called Clanheart, but I wouldn't recommend it. They seem to mostly cater to the bad side of tumblr and at one point not long ago had an issue because of it where the admin supported another user's rant and use of the term "die cis scum" (though seemed a bit confused on what exactly the term meant) and the forum there had a huge poll to see if it that kind of stuff was ok. Majority said no, but it was an incredibly small majority of about 2%, which still makes it seem a mostly unwelcome place.

Flight Rising isn't so much "exclusive" as it is they're run by a small group and pretty much self-funded. They're servers aren't as good as sites like the ones you listed and if registration was left open 24/7, 365, their servers would ultimately crash from overload and the site would go down. They don't have the mainstream popularity to really get a large userbase that would be willing to donate money towards it for the sake of upgrading equipment either. Unfortunately, this is a slight paradox as the lack of funds to upgrade servers prevents them from being able to reach out and try for an expansive userbase to get said funds.

What ReshiramForever said. It's not elitist,they're just too poor to afford a big server like,say,Neopets. Even with the current user count an event easily slows the entire site down for hours.

there's subeta but i haven't been on there in ages...there's another one that's similar to neopets that i also haven't been on in ages but i can't think of the name right now and it's driving me nuts

Wajas: Site doesn't want to load, but looking at the wiki and google images, I get this strange feeling. Like the pets and the purple background seen in the "Gameplay" shots are all so familiar and yet I don't remember any of it! SPOOKY!

Dragon Cave: I've gotten into trouble on forums for playing this. Not making that mistake again.

magistream: Not really what I'm looking for and from first glance it's more about pet collecting than pet breeding... It also seems to be going for the 8-bit look which I generally hate.

Clanheart: I am not a fan of the belief that it is ok to discriminate against majorities (Or anyone, for that matter). At all. So yeah, I'm going to pass on that one. On principle.

Subeta: Looks interesting, love the art. Might give it a try.

I remember a thread in an offsite place about Neopets, I remember they suggesting a pet site that was almost 100% trading. Not my cup of tea, but it had something to do with having monthly items ALWAYS well valued and really nice art. Then again, wanting a pet site with good economy is like asking for a turn-based RPG being fast paced,you'll have to sacrifice a few things.

What do you mean by you got in trouble? Show me who got you in trouble and I'll tell them not to mess with you!

Anyway, here it's a bit better. Apparently the mouse-brains on the Flight Rising topic insult it, but Dragon Cave has its own topic here and I haven't been openly harassed yet.

Or if you're talking about the forums on that site, then you can ignore them.

Anyway Acitius looks fun, I might give that a try too, even if it doesn't look like there is any breeding.

Also, with the Dragon Cave thing, it was more that mods didn't like me having links to my dragons in my signature, and weren't willing to give me a break about it! (Specifically, the Adventure Quest mods)
