Cause my computer has been horrible for a while. Time to think about replacing it.

Honestly, I've been looking into a 2-in-1/tablet computer/hybrid, whatever you want to call it. I know they get poor reviews, but to me it seems it'd be good enough. I'm specifically looking into the $200 Nextbook Ares 11 (Android), and have a few questions about it and similar things.

A external disc drive. Can one be connected and the files from a disc downloaded/watched?

Downloading stuff off the internet that isn't specifically an app, like a normal Windows computer, can that be done?

I use it for websites, and schoolwork, so another question becomes can I make 2 separate accounts for those 2 things?

I don't do much gaming on a computer, mainly just flash games and a few from CDs. Would those, at least, work?

Alrighty, now let's take a look at this. First off, this is more of an iPad you could say. An iPad with a keyboard attached to it. In fact, maybe even getting a chromebook could be better. But anyways, because it has the Android Lolipop or marshmallow software(idk i don't follow android) I don't believe that you would be able to put a disc into it. Also, once again, I don't think it has the capabiliy to download from the internet, so buying things like Minecraft(the pc version, otherwise known as the good version) would not work. I think everything has to come from the chrome webstore. You should just buy a computer that comes pre-installed with Windows. :/ I see you are looking for a cheap as heck computer, so I might recommend the Asus T100TA Transformer Book, which is sort of a extremely inexspensive surface book.

Yeah I know it's more so a tablet.

It's too bad you wouldn't be able to have capability with a disc. About the only things I might like that wouldn't be able to be found as just apps would be on discs I still have.
Downloading paid services on a computer isn't really something I do (even though I asked the question). I more so just more application style things than I realized.

I'm kinda sick of Windows, I'm trying to get away from it, I hate it, it always fails on me, which is why I'm looking at Android. Also the one you linked is kinda small to my liking. I like the 11.6" size I think.
How long do you think the one I linked would last?

I would like to start off by saying you should not consider the Nextbook. They are far from a reputable brand and the tablet you are considering is plagued by terrible performance and it certainly will not get updated.

Some external disc drives can be used to read and write discs on Android so long as you have an OTG cable. OTGs are extremely cheap and go for under $5 on Amazon.
You can download any file under the sun on Android, it's just a matter of whether you can utilize it on there or not.
Android 4.2.2 and above support multiple user accounts on one device, quite like using the switch user function on Windows.
Android lost native Adobe Flash support after Android 4.0.4, but there are workarounds to stretch out support.

The Android device I would keep a close eye out for is the Nexus 9. It's by far the strongest Android tablet for the price and it's got quite a pipeline with the latest Android updates directly from Google. Otherwise, a device that comes with a keyboard and is backed by Intel Atom that will win you over is anything from ASUS' Transformer Pad line.

Yeah I have seen bad reviews for it but I have never seen any real reasons behind it that would affect me.

The Nexus 9 looks to small to be used for any computer purposes. I'd definitely lean towards something a bit bigger at least.

Though some of those ASUS Transformer Pads look quite nice. How's one like this one? I don't really buy online, and I can't find anything about it anywhere but Amazon and online Best Buy. Is there a common store I might be able to find one in? This one looks really nice..

The sluggishness will get to you, trust me. The tablet apparently will not run many applications without simply kicking you back home due to excessive CPU load or RAM paging. You will not find it enjoyable, trust me on this one. Intel Atom, being x86 will push the device along much nicer than the ARM one found in there.

9 actually isn't too bad! It still sports a huge vivid screen but if you got a chance to use it in store already, I guess never mind that then.

I would go for a tablet dockable out of the box just to be safe. Too often if they don't come with a keyboard, they are not dockable at all and that would certainly be a problem. It may be awkward connecting a mechanical or Bluetooth non-OEM keyboard to it. Finding a keyboard case may also prove to be a challenge given how diverse ASUS products tend to be.

Also, I don't know how comfortable you'd be with Lenovo's Yoga line but those tend to run around the 10.1-inch range.

I was saying it says it's 8.9", that just seems like it would be kind of small for the computer side of one.

Yeah, but I really don't do much online purchasing, especially not when it reaches hundreds of dollars. Any ideas on a store that might have some of them that aren't the 7-8" ones?

They look alright, but there's the same issue as above. A store that might have them.
