The vendors at the one I went to ended up 90% Doctor Who stuff. It was cool to see, but got old fast due to lack of variety.

Really? The entire YA post-apocalyptic genre loves to take whatever theme could be done in a single movie and naval-gaze for 3 or 4 movies. Right now, the likes of Katniss and her skills pale in comparison to the likes of Furiosa from Mad Max: Fury Road... on the other hand, Katniss and what she does is still vastly superior to Bella from Twilight, who was the go-to role-model for girls. I hope the next big thing for young people will be even better than The Hunger Games. A tighter and more cutthroat focus is just needed. Maybe something on a larger scale too.
