The letter cap has rarely been a problem, unless I was spamming, which isn't recommended.

Besides, when do you ever make a post so long it exceeds the letter cap anyways?

Yeah in fanfic it's fine to double post if you run out of room to type your fanfic.

No, it's fine as it is, it prevents users from just posting 4 letters as a post
Besides, just use "--" or "." or some symbol at the bottom of your post to use up the letter minimum if you aren't posting much.

I mean, I've routinely gone over the limit in Forum Games, but I circumvented it by putting my posts in a Google Doc and just sharing the link.

I DO think it's silly that if we want to post a spoiler or an image or a YouTube video that we still have to include a 5 character message. I would think after over a decade we'd have a workaround for that. >____>

I do agree with this though, it is annoying to have to include a message when placing a spoiler, YouTube video, or image even if the text we did include was more than 5 characters.
I wouldn't call this a problem, but it is annoying enough to warrant dark finding a way around it, it annoys me routinely

completely eradicate the 5 character message rule yes.

it's incredibly annoying whenever i'm posting an image or video.

I think it has its uses in preventing spam posting, but there should be some way for BBcode stuff to 'count' as the characters. You're already taking some time to post it, and even with the limit some already do 'quote and write "this"' when people don't call them out on it.

I have no real opinion on this, since I've never really been hit with it - but, perhaps, keep the size requirement for newer users and lift it for long-term folks?

Really, just get rid of it for everyone - it's regularly circumvented by folks posting something like "filler" or whatever... it's not like folks are going to start getting modded for that. Why have the rule in place if there's no enforcement?
