The Skyiimbos only work in the Wii, Wii U, and 3DS versions.

Huh, interesting find. That's the same image they're using on the official Skylanders website. Maybe the 3DS version really does have some extra amiibo functionality that they haven't told us about yet.

When a game says it's compatible with Amiibos, this could mean as few as one Amiibo. In this case I assume they slap the label on to show that the Bowser and DK figures work. If it were more than that, they would have been idiots to not have marketed it by now.

Yes, Amiibo are compatible with the Nintendo version of the game... HOWEVER, it's only the Skymiibos and their vehicles.

Unless tapping a Mario Amiibo on the Gamepad's NFC thing unlocks his hat in-game or something I'm not aware of..
