I think it was just in good fun by the creators. They're probably Splatoon fans and wanted to make something similar in their sandbox to show it.

Doesn't mean it isn't really boring and clunky though.

Hammerhead Bridge looks interesting. Sounds like a cross between Kelp Dome and Flounder Heights. It looks like it'll be well balanced for all types of weapons.

I'm EST. I really only play anytime from 2:00-7:00, so I get 2 sets of stages.

Which team is everyone? I'm going Team Plane.

EDIT: More I think about it, Planes are way too hectic and expensive. Plus Callie's on Team Car, so I guess I'll switch to the team featuring the better Squid. Team Car it is then!

By the way, it's on Friday, 10/9, at 9 PM according to the Squid Research Lab.

Team Car for me. As much as I love both methods of transportation, especially considering that planes can bring you across oceans, cars just has a lot more freedom to it.

You get to explore vast landscapes, you get to stop at cool restuarants that are better than chains, spend close time with those who you're traveling with, and actually use the item you brought to relieve your boredom rather than sleeping or sitting there for an hour or two.

I actually like this Splatfest theme! It was pretty hard to choose and really made you think, which are the kind of themes I like.
