Possible. The Realm of Dreams is confirmed as canon in Dreamcatcher's backstory,but waaay to many things either cause conflict or are too overpowered. The Bells of Waking are an obvious example - it'll lift any curse on skylands? Why didn't someone with a relative from Monster Marsh didn't learn of the decision curse, call the sages, and get that fixed? They can't be affected by the curse when they're not on the swamp, and Marsha is proof that you can ignore the effects if you stop believing in them.

Yeah, but she tried really hard to stave off bad luck and make something ACTUALLY grow, and guess what: she finds out her tree DIED, her dialogue always gets cut off partway through, but as you pass the tree near the end she says "OH COME ON! MY TREE..." (That's the farthest I got without her dialogue abruptly ending on me...), meaning she had "bad luck"... Her efforts failed due to something out of her control... She could ignore the effects of the curse, but she wasn't able to avoid them... She still devoted her life to an effort that is futile unless other people join in and then, it's a long shot... (Wasting your life on a pointless endeavor=Bad decision) Which there is no sign of that happening.
So yeah...

It's less repetitive sounding than Fiesta's trumphet gun at least, and months ago the overexposed was Barrel Blaster. Strangely though, I don't remember anyone using its secondary attack.

The stars, you know the level completion stars from previous games aren't there anymore, and have been replaced with one star for each vehicle type, so a star for do every vehicle zone of one type

Do vehicles even have a secondary attack?

Yup, Shark Tank, for example, can burrow aside from shooting sharks, or Barrel Blaster can summon a wall of barrels instead of shooting them. Not all of them are strategy moves though, Sea Shadow can shoot black hole and bigger black hole that sticks to the field.

Speaking of racing, with the confirmation that the Boss Pursuits are all track specific no exceptions, we could guess the playable villains from it.

Cloud Factory - Way too many options, but Bad Juju matches element.
Calamity Canyon - Pepperjack, no other reason to put his face in a SF level.
Future of Skylands - Wolfgang, obv.
I don't think the other Sky track was revealed yet, Time Town seems too redundant(was in the 3DS trailer)
Dragon Spine - No idea.
Party Town - None other than Count Moneybone.
Rampant Ruins - Glumshanks seems the obvious choice, but Krankcase also matches the colors.
Chompy Garden - Chompy Mage,though Broccoli Guy could be here to throw you off.
Mystic Vault - None seem obvious other than Spellslamzer and Mesmeralda, I think.

For those who haven't seen the old cinematic trailers, man you guys missed a lot. They call The Beginning Trailer cinematic but it's not exactly story or design accurate. The Eternal Night short triology wasn't exactly 100% either but it's a good enough midquel,and pretty funny.

Oldschool is what I call both Classic and Legend, because it is what most veterans probably remember as childhood in here. Was definately mine, even if I don't love every game.

I don't have as much of a problem with Eternal Night as the rest, and it's actually a lot of what's shown in the animation - it was amazingly dark but it didn't stop being funny or ridiculous at times. When I was younger, of course, everything was the best ever, but now I get that the games didn't age well at aaaalll. The animation did,though too bad there's no better quality recordings of it since iirc it was an ad(Aura might remember better,she recorded those).

And I think that,with EN being my favorite, it's pretty obvious to see why I'd love a dark-but-still-hilarious direction in Skylanders this time :U

Oh man, I'd love that,though I know it'd be all Superchargers(which in cases like Jet-Vac and Gills we already had some). Maybe even the characters that weren't in the comic arc like High-Volt and Nightfall(because inevitably someone'll ask what's under her breathing mask).

I can see all Super Chargers (Yes, including the revamps, Drek) get some character development along with Spyro (To keep consistency with the comics).

Might be just trivia but the font for it also seems to be the same one used for the Kaos logo in Cloudbreather's Crag.

Splat's figure is good in every way but that stare. I guess they had a mischievous face in mind but that looks like something else.

I'm just trying my darnest not to see any at all,just gameplay because of the characters. Though once I see some more of Nightfall,it's spoiler shield time for me - noticed that I might not get a WiiU portal in time and do a run with just Instant Spitfire on Easy/Medium for day one, so not like I'll miss much not seeing more characters for now.

Acknowledging ALL of skylander's fans is a great move, and I no doubt know they will strike that good balance. This has me even more intrigued now.

It's probably the Supercharger Challenges, I don't know if it's as exciting as it sounds - unless you like racing with slightly different objectives than winning. I prefer the other wackier stuff from Giants but it seems they're putting the wacky in story mode already.

I have just been back from EB Games in Australia and it seems the hype for Skylanders is the lowest it's ever been. I asked how pre-orders for the Superchargers have been and they told me Lego Dimensions seems to getting everyone's attention this year. Rightly, so it's a new game that pretty much appeals to all ages.

Now this saddens me as it seems that story wise this looks like the best Skylanders game ever. The levels look amazing and there a number of old characters returning. It's as if they have incorporated everything from the previous games together. I also love the content of the levels, which is why I wished there more new characters as I think we have been overloaded with content this year; not that's a bad thing or anything.

Any who, I believe the racing component has taking most of the attention of the game. Unfortunately, it has been marketed to the extent where the uninformed think it's just a racing game. This is bad on Activision's part and is clearly killing them in pre-order sales. I just hope Activision wake up to themselves next game because I think the sales result of this game may be the must needed kick in the butt that will hopefully revolutionise the series.

Nonetheless, I am excited the game has been pushed forward but bummed that I can't afford the starter pack on Day One. I am putting whatever I have to the vehicles and characters I want, while getting the game at a discounted price later on.

Preorders are not the telltale sign of how well a game will do. Although I'm sure many of us will pass along anecdotal information specific to our experiences, the proof in the pudding will be those year end numbers I'm sure we'll discover early next year. I'm sure if there's a dead heat we'll know about it.

My only concern is market saturation. I have a sense we're getting close to it. That will be good for us (more competition is always good), but if people leave in droves...yeah.

I agree there's been a lot of focus on the gimmick. It's a double edge---it will draw some players who like racing, while likewise repelling those that don't like it. Bottom line, are they keeping the interest to keep most of us in and attracting newcomers while thwarting competition? We'll see. They definitely seem to be "soft", as if they don't recognize anyone is encroaching on their space.

You'd be surprised how many parents actually don't pre-order the game. LEGO Dimensions has more Pre-Order probably due the amount of teenagers and adults that will play the game. For example my mum doesn't pre-order any game for my little brothers, she just buys them when their birthday is coming or christmas.

Yeah, I also have the impression that they have focused a lot their promotion strategy on the racing component. I don't know if they have recently been aware of this, since the latest trailers show more on foot gameplay.

They definitely focused too much on racing and vehicles in general for too much time but they are definitely balancing things more now, as angelg said.

Probably a lot of "casual" players will think it's either a pure racing game or simply a game which focuses more on vehicles than classic gameplay (and I'm still not sure about the latter yet) but this really doesn't justify those who won't look for informations.

If I liked the series and enjoyed it so far I wouldn't stop at trailers and search for news, articles and reviews (or simply browse forums like this).
You'll simply have to find out SuperChargers Racing for Wii and 3DS to understand the main version is not all about that.
Because, I won't lie, I don't know if I would have considered buying the game if the only thing I saw were the trailers...

New video about the Skystones Overdrive gameplay. Ok, it looks much better with full SFX,music and mechanics explained - it was pretty much rebalanced to be sorta faster and varied, but here are some extra points:

-Some of the old villain enemies have reworked names and possibly attacks.They're calling Brawl and Chain the Bomb Brawl and he seems to have something new in one of his hooks though it's covered by the edges.
-Don't look in the descriptions until they go back, the undiscovered skystones still have names so you might or not find boss names since he goes until the very end.Don't lose hope at what you find though; the upper row stone is probably just the second-to-last to the bottom one which isn't shown.
-Villain Skystones are already in the game; but having the villain unlocks the Gold Version. I never captured Nightshade so dunno if he had a special ability, but he's in the footage as well as Bruiser Cruiser and Blaster-Tron without anything special.
-Now there are two attacking turns instead of one - you attack as soon as you place the stone,same as the opponent.

I want a map of Skylands! That would be amazing!

No Magic symbol on the engine (which also look plain colored) and no dark shades on the base.
