Theyre more concerned about seeing a movie on Labor Day, and they're attacking me for my opinions that we should give 1 day to honor them.

i have respect for the troops and such although they are fighting a pointless war and are getting killed for no real cause
you should just let them be and tell them you have your own views

People have a difficult time accepting different opinions, you should know this by now.

Anyway, just believe what you believe, and let them believe what they believe. If they are your friends, they should respect your opinions, just as you should respect theirs, even if none of y'all agree.

I might just be ignorant on it but I don't recall Labor Day being about the troops. Memorial and Veteran's Day are.

labor day is about the social and economic achievements of american workers, not just specifically those who have served in the military.

Labor day is for honoring working people, a day set aside so working people could rest.

Although, Places like M***** use it as a sales tactic to get more money.

In all seriousness, the whole point of the day is to give working Americans a break so they can enjoy themselves. Your friends have the right idea.

I agree with some of the above posts on the meaning of Labor Day.

But anyways, believe what you want to believe, and take others opinions into consideration, but always formulate your opinion on everything, and don't agree with what someone says
