It's like this: Usually when people join darkSpyro they join for the on-topic discussion. You know, stuff related to Spyro (which is -sadly- practically ancient history today) and Skylanders (which is moderately old too, seeing how the first Skylanders fans have been here for years now).

In time they also learn to value the community here, and start posting on the off-topic boards as well, but this doesn't usually happen right away.

People who do value the community also tend to stick around much longer, meaning that they get to become yellow, gold, emerald, platinum, etc. Sparxes, while some users simply leave the forum after a couple of months of activity.

There's nothing really discuss about Spyro that hasn't already been said at this point, so people have moved on to just discuss whatever in what is basically the general board.

I knew about S&N but my first visit was treated to a nice topic about doing weird things to dictionaries and I ruled it off my mind as 'mini 4chan on DS' for years. Very happy that it's nowhere as bad as I thought it was then.
Started lurking for months,then stayed here for years, through Spyro and now Skylanders and possibly both since General every now and then actually gets posts.

i'm only here because the other spyro boards are dead and i think skylanders is **** and i like the people here
i remember the days back in 2008 before i joined the boards were so active.........now they're just fossils from another age

I joined for info on a wave of Skylanders back towards the end of Giants.Found S&N a few weeks after while still Red and now am here jsut for S&N and all you lovely people.

I think I originally joined for Spyro topics, but since they weren't extremely active I moved pretty quickly to S&N and stayed there.

Why would you think Skylander-users would have more gems than S&Ners?

I didn't join S&N until a few months after I joined dS, but I always watched the posts here,

I have a lot of gems, but I joined dS back when Spyro's Adventure was the only Skylanders game.

We joined for the games and stood for the community.

Meanwhile people in the Skylanders section may only be here for discussion of the games and not bother to stick around or remember to log back in once they're done.

Yeah,too many people in the Skylanders section from SSA and Giants are long gone. Remembering some quitting threads,lot of people seem to think that if you stop buying the games(because you can't afford it or whatever) you have to cut all ties with everything about it. Never understood that sentiment, I skipped one of the games and I still participated in the fandom and in the rest of the forum, and I still do that even when I don't feel like talking about the games themsevles.
