seaworld is hell on earth for these poor creatures
the sad thing is, even if seaworld was shut down, the orcas they have would not be able to go back into the wild due to their dependence on humans. all of their teeth are broken and some don't even have any and require daily care to prevent infection, so they wouldn't be able to feed themselves in the wild. they will be in that hell the rest of their lives. (not to mention you can't just mix orcas of random pods together and expect them to get along, which seaworld does that) |

I can't see how it's still allowed, I find it absolutely horrifying. Dolphins try to call out for help but due to the structure of the tanks, their distress signal bounces right back at them causing metal torture which leads to some going insane.

dolphins SHOULD NOT be in captivity. i don't see why people can't see it. i know it's all for the money, but why don't people even THINK before going to those shows?
this isn't seaworld related, but i saw this a couple months ago how these dolphins are put in tiny CHLORINATED pools https://www.change.org/p/wake-...iny-resort-pool i don't understand how a human being could put animals through that kind of torture |

That's just BS. It's pretty sad seeing all those poor animals in captivity. Here, in my country, there's a park like Seaworld named Dolfinarium. It's just as worse. We're in the Netherlands DAMMIT! Dolphins don't even live anywhere CLOSE my country! They had to be transported all the way to here in small hecking bathtubs! I call BS on this!
You know what I find sad? When a Youngster gets overpupolated by media and all of that crap. |

The one in San Antonio is the biggest! ^.^ But honestly it's just over glorified zoo that forces animals to do their bidding.

I have swum with a male dolphin actually before. The poor dolphin was acting up real strange though. In fact, it kept on launcing itself towards Female swimmers. In fact, the dolphin KNEW I was a female and wanted to mate with me. He was kept in a small pool as well. There were NO females whatsoever. He was the only dolpin in the whole pool. Pretty ffed up story yes |

I think theres this documentary film called Blackfish based on an orca who was captured and held in Seaworld. From what I've read/heard its a good documentary. It also seemed to have brought Seaworlds attendance down by 5% in the last few years from reports I've read.

Not a fan at all. Would prefer to just not bother with them.
But unfortunately my brother and father still really want to go there so I'd end up tagging along. Quote: BlackWing116
Watch Blackfish if you can (it's on Netflix streaming). Great documentary and sheds light on a lot of Seaworld's history and practices concerning some of their animals. EDIT: Do note though that Blackfish has some disturbing imagery. Consider that an advisory if you can't handle blood. |

I think they need to be shut down. Or at least release their marine exhibits into the wild. Obviously they don't know how to take of the animals if they kill the trainers, harm each other to the point they kill each other. I really don't believe half of the staff there even knows jack about the animals they deal with. Like these marine mammals, the Orcas, require a **** ton of space in order to calm down and tolerate everyone. But like me and my sister there's not enough space for them and they will fight for room.
Yeah. Sea World is a ****ed up version of a zoo and is the best example of marine animal abuse.
